Can someone give me an idea about the cost of shipping a Shield from Iowa to Mass. for repair? S&W said they only use Fed-Ex. Thanks

I've had to use priority overnight many times. Based on a 5 lb package going halfway across the country I'd guess you'll be looking at around $75.

FedEx has a shipping calculator on their website...it's a bit tricky to find but it will give you an estimate based on the sending and receiving zip codes.

shipping

thanks guys. The label was sent and I will check again to see if it's prepaid.

"Pre paid" FedEx label ....

Be leery of the package/box issues when you go to the FedEx location even though you have a pre-paid FedEx label, .
The shipment FedEx location may hit you up for the box-package fee.
I got a label from Sportsmans Guide to return a clothing item to MN(wrong size). FedEx Office charged me $5.00 to send the item back.

Id check on insured rates too if your firearm isn't already covered(I use the basic NRA member plan).

It is a prepaid label; take it a regular Fedex center - not a Kinko's or some shipping store; it will be sent back via Fedex when done; and no, Fedex will not charge you a fee if you box it and use S&W's prepaid label.

Kinkos IS FedEx......it was rebranded as FedEx Office in 2008.

You can ship firearms from any FedEx Office location.

No- FedEx policy is NO SHIPPING FROM A KINKO's site.
Hubs only.
You MAY find a Kinko's clerk who'll ship in ignorance, but they're violating FedEx policy in doing so.

What part of "Kinkos no longer exists" do ya'll not get?;)
There is no prohibition from shipping firearms from a FedEx Office location.

Doubtful..........cause Kinkos doesn't exist.;)

Incorrect, Kinko's is a subsidiary of Fedex and is a franchise, just like the UPS stores (formerly Mailboxes, Etc.)
Incorrect? Not hardly:

Don't trust Wikipedia? Then how about FedEx itself:

FedEx Office Franchising
FedEx Office does not offer franchising opportunities for US locations at this time. All FedEx Office domestic centers are wholly owned by FedEx Office.

Tom,
Play semantics all day long if you're that bored, I'm saying FedEx policy requires shipping from a hub.

Please show us where their tariff says any such thing.
