I have a small gunsmithing business and one of the things I do a lot of is mount scopes.I was working on a new rifle and scope for a friend of mine and I had it mounted, leveled and torqued down before I noticed the power adjustment worked backwards-turning the power ring counterclockwise increases the power. All the Leupolds I've ever seen increase the power when the ring is turned clockwise. It had a Ching Chung set of extra high rings in the box and came with a cheap rubber scope cover.I thought he had put them in the box when he sent me the gun and scope, but it turns out that they came with the scope.I couldn't imagine Leupold putting a trashy set of rings like these in the box with one of their scopes. The box looked authentic enough.I don't know if this is a new generation of fakes or if it's been around for a while.Poor guy bought 3 of them for $100 a piece. When it sounds too good to be true,it probably is.Just thought I'd throw that out there in the hopes that somebody else doesn't get hooked.
