I went to the T - enCino Ranch near Brownwood, Texas, last weekend on a managment buck hunt; the owner, Jason, just got his Level 3 MLD permit, and I was his first early-season whitetail hunter. He's got about 1,000 acred under high fence, and has really worked hard to establish an excellent hunting ranch. (He's running a great special on management hunts, for anyone interested--check him out at www.tbarencino.com)

Saw some terrific bucks, and bagged a nice 10-pointer (scored 119-1/2 gross and weighed 135 pounds dressed out, Jason's biggest deer to date), plus a little 5-point cull buck (dressed at 72 pounds).

I took them with a Savage 110 (left-handed) in .30-06 with a Bushnell Elite 3200 3-9x40 scope, using Remington's Managed Recoil ammunition. I've now killed six deer with six shots using that combo, and I'm not changing a thing!

Really had a terrific time; enjoyed the food, lodging, company (Jason's a great guy, plus my wife came along to keep me in line). Lots o' fun, lots o' beautiful deer, and plenty of other critters to look at, too, like a great horned owl, a hog-nosed skunk (we didn't get too close), not to mention his exotics.

Here are photos of my deer. The 10-pointer is now at the taxidermist.

Nice deer. I shoot a rifle left handed, does that Savage 110 work well for you. All my bolt guns are right handed and I have been thinking about trying a left handed bolt gun.

I gotta tell you, I love my Savage 110. It's not a beautiful rifle, but it shoots great.

For us left-handed guys, options are pretty limited, as you know. I never got the hang of shooting a right-handed rifle, so I looked around for a lefty gun, and bought this one.

Even if I could have any left-handed rifle made, I wouldn't switch from my Savage. It's done really well for me.

Good looking animals.

I too shoot a lefty 110 and its a great hunting rifle. I'm using 165gr Sierra Gamekings over 57.5gr of IMR 4350 and its one accurate round. Only other difference is that I'm using a Burris 3X9 Fullfield II with the ballistic mil dot.
