Finally got around to watching it yesterday while recovering from a minor procedure that involved anestisia so could not drive or handle firearms so what the heck.

OK it is a silly SF movie.....but the guns were great. Mostly C&B revolvers and a a very few SAAs. Also a Spencer carbine.....and Alien Blasters that delivered a BP like explosion on the ground.

Actually some decent lines an situations and did I mention everything from Colt Dragoons to Colt conversions and BP.

It was fun....at least I think so as I was still stoned.....

I agree kBob, it is good to see Hollywood finally paying attention and using accurate period correct weapons. Did you see that remake of True Grit? I liked that movie, I thought it was better than the original but I sure wish Rooster Cogburn would have used his 51' Navys more throughout the film.

I liked that movie a whole lot more than I thought I was going to, and I wasn't even mildly buzzed....

I recently watched that movie while recovering from back surgery and I gotta say I liked it better than the first time I saw it...maybe it was the Percocet. Cowboys, Indians, cool guns, aliens...a perfect "recovery" movie.

What about django?

Derringers, New Armys, 1858 Sheriff's, 1851 Navys, Dragoons, Double Barrelled Muzzle loaders, Enfields, even an 1860 Henry.

Dont forget about the blood. :p

Love Django!! So much I bought the DVD and the wife and I have watched it about four times now!

It's typical Tarentino, the gunfights are brutal and bordering on ridiculous but still awesome. The language gets super harsh by the end though and it wears on me hearing the n word used continually, but again, Tarentino.

I love all his movies, Kill Bill and Inglorious Basterds are right at the top though.

I'll certainly have to watch Cowboys and Aliens now.

I was very prepared to NOT like "Cowboys and Aliens" when I first sat down to watch it.
I like SciFi and I have been building up a DVD library of selected Westerns over a few years; but cringed at the thought of a "combo". 15 minutes into the movie, I was hooked. Once you can suspend reality enough to accept spaceships in a western, it's no different from "a band of marauding indians attacking a small town" - except the Indians are on the same side as the cowboys this time.

Good flick; I even managed to get past "Han Solo" and "James Bond" being 'cowboys'. :p
