Was cleaning my Sig Mosquito 22lr tonight and found the slide was cracked on both sides!!!!!:fire:

The cracks are on the rear of the slide about 3/4" long where it fits over the rails. It is not safe to shoot now. Wish I had a camera to show you.

I bought it in 2006. Total round count is less than 1500 i would guess. I never shot it that much because the safety lever right above the cracks always got loose.

I am going to try to see if Sig will do anything about it. I have a S&W 22A that has countless bricks of ammo through it with no problems.

Anyone else crack a mosquito?

I really liked my Mosquito at first. Then I found out the slide was made of zinc and the gun wasn't manufactured by SIG. Zinc is used in what were often referred to as pot metal guns. The Walther P22 is made out of the same cheap junk. And yes their are posts of the slides cracking. And SIG really doesn't seem to want to service these guns if they have to go back more than once. Mine is still under warranty and after the second time back and it not being fixed they simply told me their was nothing wrong with the gun and I had probably been shooting too high of a velocity ammo. Even though it comes with a separate spring for hot ammo. SIG just isn't the company it used to be.
