If case you don't know Present Biden has all major credit card companies starting to submit any firearm and related transactions to be submitted to the government starting April 1. The major 3 companies, Discover, Master Card, and Visa, among others are questioning the procedure at the moment only because they are to submit all types of purchases without any distinction. The difference is between firearm purchases and all other related products.
What are you planning to do, especially in respect internet sales?

It's been put on hold for the time being. Many politicians are putting pressure on the credit card companies. Discover recently said they are not going to do it.
There is a bill in Florida prohibiting CC companies from reporting these sales. Its awaiting the signature by DeSantis.

Nothing. I'm going to continue to live my life just like I would otherwise. If the Government wants to see what I've been up to as far as firearms are concerned, there are about 700 other places they can go to pull it up. Me buying an AR lower, a case of ammos, or a scope... if it puts me on some List somewhere, well, so be it.

I'd be less concerned about the gov't (at least for now), than I would be for
the commercial sale of card purchase date to outside groups -- as is done all
the time for marketing these days,

True that. I just wish they would cut me in on some of the profit they see for selling my information. I could buy more gun stuff online... ;)

I am the perfect citizen, I am already to broke to buy gun stuff. So, I am doing nothing. My guy in congress wants me to send him money to stop it. He also gets nothing. This post won't last long.

Yep cc and the ability to dispute if you never receice or even if the cc company blocks an iffy transaction if someone gets my number is good for me.

They can have more of my info, don't care.

I wonder if this new group of data will be as unsecured as the consealed Cary licenses in California that the state used to dox its own citizens. This is just a shadow registry, trying to skirt the rules they just got caught flagrantly breaking.

If you need to buy something "over the Internet" use something like gun broker, pay with a money order. But you still have to do a 4473 about 99.9% of the time when buying something that fires fixed ammunition.

I have never, and probably never will, purchased firearms or related items with a credit card.
I only buy what I can hold first and pay cash, preferably at an establishment that offers cash discounts.

Yes, yes, I know, most gun stores are run by idiots, but I go knowing what I need to know already rather than rely on some kid behind the glass showcases.
I also am fortunate enough to have a local gun shop that is run by good people that I trust. They also give me a cash discount!!!

The guberment already knows what firearms I purchase (NICS form at FFL ), and I rarely buy ammo on line, the only purchases I've made are components. I don't see much interference with my guns/shooting/reloading hobbies. I believe the mandating of credit card companies reporting firearm related sales is just more political hogwash, "Look at what I'm doing to protect the children"...

It would be really nice if I could walk into a store and buy something firearm related, but in my small town there is one gun store and one box store, with limited inventory and more often than not, anything I need or want, so I usually buy from online vendors...

I logged on to my accounts to the banks that service my credit cards. I then went to the "Contact US" option and submitted a question asking them if they were going to implement the proposed code for firearms purchases. I participated in a keyboard chat with a representative from one of the banks since e-mail was not an option. I did get replies that were mostly word salads of legal giberish. My query probably did not have much impact, but if all of us did the same maybe we could get their attention.

NRA Benefactor Golden Eagle Looking forward to Indianapolis
