Greetings,

We often post bad customer seevice experiences or bad products.

I would like to post about a good experience.

I bought a CRKT knife. Here is the E-mail I sent them:

Greetings,

I own 4 CRKT knives.

I bought a M21-14SFG and I am pretty disappointed of the blade quality. After ONE cut of a 1/8" diameter branch, ALL the edges of the serrations were broken.

This is the knife I carry in my pocket all around. It was the first "serious" use I did of it.

For me, it looks like the metal is too brittle and the manufacturing process was wrongly done.

Did you have any other reports of this kind of issue? What is your policy about defect knives?

Here is part of the mail I received:

Thank you for contacting us. I am sorry to hear about your knife. Please know you can send this knife in with a note and we will of course replace it for you. I will need to warn you that the serrations on this knife were mainly designed for cutting rope or cloth quickly........

I returned the knife and got a replacement within one week. I cut another small branch and the serrations did not break. I still think the quality of the metal of the first knife was bad. But i am very happy with the second knife and very happy with their replacement and customer service.

I'm guessing heat treat was off. Rare for them, the M21 is a beast.
