Calleigh Duquesne (the blonde ammunition specialist) on CSI Miami had a really cool looking firearm (pistol?) in one of the episodes not to long ago, does anyone know what kind it was. If I remember correctly it said "lady" something....don't remember. Thanks for the info. My husband El Rojo said to ask ya'll because you all know everything!!!!

Please don't get mad at me for using the wrong terminology or anything I am new to this firearms thing.......:D

Since I don't watch CSI: Anything, or much else on network TV, I can't answer your question.

But welcome aboard to THR and "this firearms thing"!
Good on El Rojo for pointing you this way.

While we are on the subject of guns in movies, There was either a Clint Eastwood or Charles Bronson movie where a sniper/assassin had a rifle that looked like a revolver turned into a rifle. The gun didn't have a pistol grip but the revolving cylinder was very noticeable anyone seen a gun like this before?

Caveat emptor...

Be very cautious of CSI and its spinoffs, a lot of what is presented as science is fantasy. The firearm mentioned may well not exist. You may enjoy, or hate, the results of a search. Within the last few weeks, the technical advisor was interviewed on some show or another, saying she is frequenlty overruled when she warns that what the script calls for is not yet possible. I have also heard an interview of an ADA complaining of the "CSI effect" raising jurors' expectations to ridiculous levels.)

I haven't seen the episode you write of, but you may want to check out the Smith & Wesson LadySmith models for a match. The autoloaders are pretty snazzy, cosmetically.

Smith and Wesson 3913 Ladysmith. Single stack 9mm.

It's just a show and both are very entertaining. As for reality, well if you think every podunk crime scene unit or even well funded crime scene unit has that kind of tech then me thinks you need to come back to reality. Not to mention that it wouldn't be as fun of a show if it wasn't for some of the implausable stuff. It's JUST ENTERTAINMENT.

Can you imagine a real crime scene investigation show that was absolutely realistic. Lord that would make for some long drawn out boring TV. Episode 27 taking more pictures of expended shells. Episode 28 waiting for some national research firm to mail your results back. Episode 29, I dunno it coulda came from a bolt action, semi-automatic, pump etc. rifle.

Besides it's cool to have lines on TV like "Modeling might be fun but we get to carry heat." and to show a professional character who is attractive who has a passion for firearms and is frequently shown "relaxing" shooting.

Emily Proctor. Blond, southern accent, enjoys firearms (in real life). Talk about the ultimate hat trick.

A little slower than usual for THR. 40 minutes to get a definative answer and 47 minutes for a picture of it. :D

No wonder I'm addicted to this place! :neener:

THANKS ALL...

You guys realy are the best!!! El rojo told me last night to post here and I blew him off, maybe I should listen to him more offten?!?! Nahhh!:neener:

I'm proud to say that the beautiful, gun-wielding, blond is from my town, Greenville, NC. She's a grad of East Carolina University, my alma mater. That's the way we like to grow'em down here. Got one myself, but she's a brunette. :D

 My apologies to the ladies for my chauvinistic remarks.

Dang wife sneaking around behind my back!

Yeah I told her last night she could ask this question on THR. Well sometime between when I went to bed and when I got done watching the Women's World Cup a few minutes ago, she created a user name, made the post, and got an answer before I knew what was going on. I can look at this one of two ways. She is good at sneaking around behind my back and she should be watched at all times. Or the other thing she is good at sneaking around behind my back, doing firearms research, and can order me a gun and have it here in a few days to surprise me.

Thanks guys. She was very impressed. And I do like the looks of that gun. I might have to encourage her to get one and get her CCW.

I don't like S&W Autos; IMHO they should stick w/ revolvers. But I did look real hard at a 3913 at the local shop. Nice piece! Can't see a 9 being bigger than a .45 as most are. Wound up with a plastic pistol with a 2x4 slide, but darn, it's a shooter! (G-19). That 3913 is one of the few flat 9's around, I'd bet narrower tha my G-19!

... Or the other thing she is good at sneaking around behind my back, doing firearms research, and can order me a gun and have it here in a few days to surprise me.
Forgot something :D

SHE can order HERSELF a gun and have it at home in a few days to SURPRISE you.

El Rojo :"honey, seen my credit card?"
Kellann:" yes honey, seen my new gun?"

:D

Not so very long ago, Smith decided they wanted a piece or maybe to create a female firearm market. Designer firearms at that. They were also fanning the fears of women who thought it wasn't safe to be out alone at night. They came out with a .38 revolver with grips available in more than just wood or black. This was called the 'Ladysmith'. They figure women would buy more .38 revolvers if they could get one to match their purse and shoes.
I agree wih Bob F. Smith semi-auto's are junk for the most part. Except for the 41, they can't make a semi that works properly.

We're getting off the subject, but my 5904 works fine. But I feel it takes a lot more effort to learn to shoot it than say a 1911, HiPower, or Glock. It's gota godawful 1st shot DA pull. If my grips not right, I can't get the trigger back-explain that one! (Weakling?) I can do OK if I spend a lot of range time with it; but basically, I just don't like it-it's a personal thing.

And lets not forget, Miss Parker from the TV show "Pretender"
carried a 3913LS.
Why do I like women that know how to handle guns. ;)

P.S. My Wife has owned and LOVES her 3913LS since 1990.
Really likes Winchester Silvertips.

i don't watch CSI, it's boring, as the problem with it is that since it's a "science show" everything they say people take as being credible and i've heard it repeated to me and i point out that it's wrong. it's hollywood.

and HOT DANG IT they've crappified the bullet girl (that's what we call her around the fire dept :) ) , she's lost her accent and so isn't nearly as hot anymore, booooo!! :cuss:
