My muzzle velocity is right at 3000fps... the residual velocity @ 875 is to be 1786fps with 992 ft/lb energy... yes it expanded, I had about a 1" exit hole

Here is the doe! As you can see she is on the rack of the 4 wheeler and covered heavily in mud... the field had been disced and floated days before a rainstorm moved through the day before the hunt... if you look closely at her shoulder you will see fur sticking out and ruffled up, that is the spot of the entry hole!

Wow, that's a fair poke
Yes, it is! My confidence is at zero shooting game at that distance.

I ran the calculator on it and is says you'll have just above 1000ft/lbs of energy at that distance. It's an impresssive round! Over 100 inches of drop with a 500yd zero, impressive shot!

It is a round I've been eyeing for at least 10 years now. so when I decided to have a rifle built, the 6.5-06 was definitely the cartridge I wanted to use... I don't understand why this cartridge isn't made by any factory rifle making companies... it's dead in between the 25-06 and .270 and outperforms them both... thanks about the comments, I am really proud of that shot! I shoot between 500 and 800 often... but I have never attempted anything further... this rifle just flat out shoots! I'd like to see what someone can do with it that shoots for a living... I can't say enough about the parts I chose and my smith who put her together... oh yeah, I run a 200yds zero
