I've been hunting with this rifle for three seasons now and have never taken a picture of it. Found it at Dixie Gun Works after finding that the stock of my Pedersoli Rocky Mountain Hawken had a cracked wrist. It's a .54cal flintlock by Phil Hogan in the style of Isaac Haines. I have no idea if this was a kit or built from scratch or somewhere in the middle. It's a gorgeous rifle and a fantastic shooter and I've thoroughly enjoyed spending time in the field with it. It's accounted for a few deer.

That's as fine a rifle-gun as I ever hope to see.
My .45 rifle is quite similar. Yours has iron furniture and mine is brass. They are the same style.
Your engraving is spectacular. Did you do it yourself? I did mine, but it looks like I used an axe.
Flintlock rifles are the Alpha of our entire sport.

The metal work is superb. I don't quite understand how it can be a "custom" from Dixie. Are they doing something different since I last bought from them? If so, it's a great improvement.

They always have a healthy selection of hand built guns.

That is one beautiful gun.
Flintlock rifles like that are works of art!

As a hobbyist wood worker /furniture builder curly maple is one of my favorite figured woods to incorporate into a work piece. Danish oil really brings out the chatoyance of the woods grain structure like the OPs tiger stripe stock. It can be difficult to work so hats off to who ever did the furniture inletting.
IMO the iron furniture adds to the elegance.

Anybody can slap a 2x4 to an iron pipe and make it go boom. That rifle however is a true work of art and there’s is no fault to find aside from the fact that it’s in your hands rather than mine.

In another time and place if you were to look up the word "magnificent" in a dictionary, a picture of your flintlock rifle would be there! Thanks for posting those great photos of it too!

After doing business with them for over 50 yrs I finally visited a few yrs ago and they had piles of kit and hand built rifles in almost every corner to handle, they weren't cheap, but not as high as a custom. They did have some prime rifles behind the counter; silver and gold inlay and detailed engraving, these were far out of my range.
