I'm trying to put a fair value on a customized Glock that I have. The gun is a gen 3 Glock 17. It has Glock Night Sights and a gun smith installed Wilson Combat Barrel with serial number matching the frame. It also has a full length guide rod. I'm going to sell the gun with 3 mags. It's very accurate and still reliable. The only detractor in my opinion is that the Gun Smith/Shop stamped their name on the back of the slide just behind the serrations. It's a small stamp but obviously some people won't like it. Of course the gun is used but in great shape. What do you think is a reasonable price to ask for it if I list it on the forum here?

Most extras added will only detract from the value of the gun.

If you have the original parts you would be better off selling it as stock as you can and sell the extras separately.

This does not apply to sights. They can be a good way to add some value. You won't get the total price of the sights out of it though.

How far are you from Newington? I've had very good luck selling firearms on consignment at Newington Gun Exchange. They take 18%, so price your Glock accordingly. With three 17-round mags I bet you can get what you want for it.

The only downside is that you might get some phone calls from the shop with low-ball offers, but you can always refuse.

$400 sounds about right - $450 tops. As mentioned the Wilson barrel isn't going to add much. When adding aftermarket parts to a gun never expect them to add value to resale (and often they hurt the value).

If you still have the original barrel you'd probably do better to swap it back in and sell the Wilson barrel separately. Similarly, in the current climate I'd sell one of the three mags with the gun and the other two individually. Extra mags pull more value by themselves than they add to a used gun.

I think some of the people here are still asleep. If someone wants to buy a G17 right now, they're possibly in for a long wait. And the extra 3rd mag is a decidedly nice bonus, here.

There are no new Glocks in any model in stock, anywhere I've looked. The only USED glocks avail are the police trade-in G22's. And they're priced at JGsales at:

Used 3rd gen G22 with 3 mags = 629.00 (!)
Used 3rd gen G22 with 1 10-rd mag = $450.00

Selling an "upgraded" glock for anything over market value of a stock glock is an excersise in futility. When I sold my glock 22 I pulled all the aftermarket stuu off it, sold my extra mags, Wilson barrel, and extras seperately. I was able to eak out close to $600. I had about $700 invested and figure the loss was about $8/mo of my using it.

Had I sold it as is with everything I got offers in the $300-450 range.
