I've purchased three sets of custom grips from Bearpaw grips on eBay. The seller is gooseman179 and he refers to his speciality grips as EIG 5 which stands for ergonomically improved grip. The top of the grip is 15% thicker and the butt of the grip is 10% thinner. I ordered a set of these grips for my Ruger Blackhawk caliber .45 Colt and they tamed the recoil considerably. In fact I ordered two more sets, one for my Blackhawk in .44 Special caliber and one for my Blackhawk in .357 caliber. I love the wood they are made from as well. The .44 Special is wearing Claro Walnut from California, my .45 Colt is wearing a set of Verigated Maple from my home state of North Carolina and the .357 is wearing a set of Buckeye Burl from the Pacific Northwest. As you probably know there are variations in the Ruger grip and gooseman179 explains which grips fit a particular Ruger. I love these grips and wanted to pass this info along to others that are not happy with the standard Ruger grip. I would post pictures but don't know how?
