Hello Everyone,
A few years ago I purchased a CVA barrel for my CVA Hawken .50 cal. It turned out the CVA Hawken I have has a 15/16 barrel channel. The barrel I purchased as an extra is 1" across the flat. It is marked .50 cal also. It has a hook tang.
I do not know if this is a mountain rifle barrel, or regular hawkens barrel. I would like to get a stock for it and make a complete gun. Any information would help if anyone can guide me to the correct place to find it.
Thanks,
Rob

Could also check with TOW for an upgrade stock. It would be a better looking stock at the very least. Guess it depends on what you're looking for and how much you want to spend.

Yes thanks I was looking at that stock on ebay. I was ready to pull the trigger on it. I also needed toknow if the tang was for a hook tang. Just waiting for a reply from that seller. I purchased to many things laetly I thought would fit what I have and they don't
Thanks.

Hello runrob1,

The CVA Hawken was introduced in 1981, with a 1" barrel.
The 1984 catalog still lists it as a 1" barrel.
The 1989 catalog lists it as a 15/16" barrel, but also list it available in .58 Caliber (must be 1"). Also a 12 ga. in 1".
They also list a St. Louis Hawken with a 15/16" barrel.
Also list the CVA Hunter Hawken (New that Year) available in a 28" 1-66 twist or a 24" 1-24 twist in either .50 or .54 caliber. All 15/16".
I see from your pictures, it has a button hook, these were later than the standard Hook.

Hope this helps, AntiqueSledMan.
