Well, got a second chance to get to the range with my .308 barrel. Last time it was severely disappointing. 5" groups, stringing horizontally for the most part. That was with some nosler tipped winchester and federal ammo. This time I went with some lighter hitting sierra match king reloads (I didn't reload them, but I trust the reloader with my life). Now it was .692 groups at 50, so about 1.25 - 1.5 moa. I was shooting off the same 4x4 rests (same station actually). Didn't seem to matter where I had the rifle barrel rested. I have it shooting about 2" low right now, which should put me close to dead on at 100y, that's next range trip. I'll be taking some of my loads with game kings to see how they do next. With some tweaking, I might just have a 1 moa break action rifle here :)

Specs:
CVA Optima Elite
.308 Bergara barrel, 28", 1 in 10
Z2 allow durasight 2 piece mounts
Millet Angle Lock rings
Bushnell Sportsman 4x32 scope

Considering epoxying a nut into the forearm and mounting a bipod to play with the .308 with. Don't need it for hunting so I'll make that barrel and forearm a playtoy.

After this gets tuned in... I'll play with the 20ga barrel and see what I can do with that. I was getting 4" groups with remington sluggers at about 25y off hand with no sights. Got a bead on it now so it's about the time to shoot it off the rest and see what it will do. Then fine tuning the BP barrel to see what I can do with it. It's 2" using pellets and I bet I can tune that down to 1.5" with the right powder load and sabot combo.
