Im having an issue with my Cylinder and Slide trigger.

Once installed it completely stopped the gun from resetting if you kept the trigger depressed while you racked the slide I've read reviews online of people having other similar problems with the trigger. To the hi power owners out there, buy at your own risk. I should've spent the 50 bucks on ammo. I will be emailing cylinder and slide with my complaint shortly.

Edited: I've cooled off now and submitted an inqury with C&S. We'll see where this goes. I was understandably not happy when I posted initially. :fire:

You sure you installed it correctly??? Ive had mine for many many years without any issue..

I have the C&S trigger in my MK IV BHP and it works just fine. Absolutely NO problem at all. Have you tried contacting C&S to talk to them about your problem? They are really stand up folks. I have dealt with them and used their products, including their gunsmithing services several times over the years and always been satisfied with their quality.

Maybe you should call C&S before you get on here and start trashing them. In my experience their stuff is pretty bullet proof if installed correctly. In fact, I've got a "No Bite" hammer on the way for my HP right now. Even if that part is defective in some way you could give them the chance to make good on it.

I'm sure it was installed correctly. I know how a hi power trigger works.

I've cooled off a bit and emailed C&S, hopefully they'll make it right.

I have one on a Browning here, installed by C&S some years ago, never a problem with it.

They suggested bending my factory trigger reset sprint (not gonna happen) so I'm going to order the C&S spring and the Wolf spring and give them a go

Never had a problem with my C&S trigger either. That being said, anything made by man is subject to being flawed every now and then. I'd have to imagine a competent gunsmith can tell you exactly where your problem is.

I've installed 4 of them. Some of them need a little fitting all of.them needed the return spring bent or a stronger return spring

If you rack the slide on a BHP with the trigger depressed there is going to be damage to the trigger transfer bar system.
Best,
Rob

I'm no expert on the Hi-Power but, like others here I have to ask, why you'd do this to any gun? Why keep the trigger depressed while racking the slide? What does that get you? Explain please...

I vaguely recall some test like this on the 1911 that I used to do till I got bored of it. The BHP has a different trigger.

Go shoot it and see how it works. Then complain...or not.

If you aren't holding the trigger to the rear while the action cycles, you aren't taking advantage of trigger reset by feel. The Navy has been teaching us to do that for as many years as I can remember. (I'm on the All Navy rifle and pistol team)

Holding back the trigger while racking the slide simulates what happens when the gun is fired. There won't be any damage because that is exactly what happens when you fire live ammo.

No there won't be. What do you think happens when the weapons fires with live ammunition?

What holding the trigger down while cycling the gun does is allow you to feel how the trigger resets, or in this case if the trigger even resets, it's a pretty standard test of a new trigger.

Still waiting on the springs to show up guys. Will let you know, hoping that's the fix and I can eat my words. I know C&S had a good reputation for quality.

As I remember (maybe I'm misremembering) this is a test of the disconnector. If the disconnector is not functioning the hammer will not reset.

You drop the hammer on an empty chamber keeping the trigger depressed. Now rack the slide all the way back and forward again. Release the trigger and you will hear/feel the trigger reset. If no reset there may be an issue with the disconnector.

It's been many years since I've checked a gun for this. Haven't had call to.

Go to the range and shoot the gun. See what happens.

Well it took a wolf extra power sprint AND bending said spring but the wide trigger is now installed and functioning correctly. Reset is pretty nice now. Range day tomorrow and we'll make sure it works under firing conditions.
