Ordered a New Hi-Power, Where to Have Trigger Job?

I just ordered a new Browning Hi-Power MKIII. I've heard how terrible the factory trigger is, so I'm wondering who does good Hi-Power trigger work?

I've looked at Cylinder and Slide, but is there anyone that's more of a specialist for Hi-Powers or single actions in general?

Also, is there anything else as far as springs go that I should change in the gun?

I had Ted Yost install a hammer and sear with his built up safety for about $300 ,but had to wait for 9 months to get it back.

I don't know what you mean by 'terrible'. The HP mag safety is designed such that you have rubbing against the mag. The simplest thing is to remove the the mag safety's plunger, spring and pin, then you'll have a pretty good trigger. If that is not acceptable [to remove mag safety]you could polish the plunger and the section of mag [each mag]that it rubs against. I never found new springs necessary.

Cylinder and Slide's Bill Laughridge IS a specialist for the Hi Power. Seriously, the guy is to Hi Powers what Ed Brown is to 1911s. Just had to stick up for them.

You've got lots of options: Novak's, C&S, The Action Works (Don Williams), Ted Yost, Arizona Response systems, and more that don't immediately come to mind...

C&S is slow, but well worth the wait. One good thing about them is that if you have a question you can actually talk to Bill instead of some flunky.

One of the best out there is Jim Garthwaite. His BHP trigger job also involves a slight tightening of the slide and frame to help remove the play in the sear lever/slide/frame relationship. A true master with Hi Powers and 1911s.

Sent my old Springfield to him last year for a new barrel. He installed a .38/9X23 barrel, a 9MM barrel, all set up to use same bushing, very tight fit. Combo shoots like gangbusters.

He will probably get my BHP 40 this winter.
