I just got a NEF tracker 2 SB1 and there is rifling in the barrel. Is this normal for a cylinder bore? Should I use rifled slugs or sabots? Can I shoot shot shells through it?
I'm pretty sure you have a rifled slug barrel on that one. A rifled shotgun barrel is gonna scatter/halo shot in a very short distance from the barrel. NEF will fit another barrel on your reciever if you ship it to them, thou I'm not sure what they charge.
I must have read your post a little to fast. On a rifled barrel sabots tend to be more accurate VS rifled slugs. You can shoot shot shells out of it but as I said in the previous paragraph the patern isn't gonna look good at all.
"Cylinder bore" really only applies to a smoothbore barrel. If it's rifled you can use slugs and sabots, shot will be totally impractical as Clifford says.

I guess I'll try some sabots through it and see how it does. Already have a damn nice Winchester model 12 made in '53 but it has a smooth bore and I don't want to have the barrel worked on to take chokes. It was passed down to me and will go to one of the kids one day.
