Well I wasn't looking for another gun, but I seem to have bought one
Last week while buying .22WMR ammo I spotted an old shotgun leaning in a corner of the shop, I noticed it was a side lock so had a closer look.
It's an old circa 1965 CZ, looks as if it's had a hard life, but still works ok.
The price was £60 I was told, so I left it where it was (skint)
On Saturday I was back in the shop for something else, shop was busy and to waste time I picked the CZ up again and had a good look at it, wood is solid, not oil soaked, but is a little knocked about and the chequering is just about worn away.
The action or lock up is a little loose, but only noticeable with the fore end removed, it has a removable hinge pin.
Barrels have had the chokes opened up to 1/4 & 1/4, which actually suits me, it's just a shame they have only about 10% of the bluing left.
My turn at the counter, and after buying my bits and pieces, he says, you keep looking at it, make me an offer
Lets just say I made an offer that he accepted, and the 50 cartridges I bought to suit it, doubled the total price
I christened it 2 hours after buying it, five shots, five dead various, only problem was a failure to eject, a good cleaning has cured that, and a new hinge pin is all it needs to be a 100% reliable shooter.
I was going to refinish it, but have decided to just use it, and apply a little stock oil.
The wear and tear is a mark of the life it has lead over the last 44 years, and I don't suppose I will ever see another like it, after all if it had been a mint condition one I would not have been able to afford it.
Pics here and here last one here.
