I have a CZ-40P. It`s a good gun. It`s reasonably accurate, pretty reliable, has a nice feel in the hand and rails for my M3 light. But...it`s not as accurate, reliable or good feeling as my CZ-75B and the trigger isn`t as good either although it`s fine. It`s chunky like a Glock, not svelt like the 75 which I guess bothers me a little bit. I dunno,it`s a darn good gun but it doesn`t have the "magic" of the 75B (to me). Then there`s this Bi-Tone XD-40 Service (4") that`s been calling to me. Yeah it`s just as blocky as the 40P if not more so but it`s *supposed* to be blocky,it`s an XD. I`ve been shooting my Kahr P-40 a lot lately and the XD`s trigger is starting to interest me more and more. The grip feels really good to me,it looks pretty snappy with the stainless slide and it`ll also mount an M3. Yeah I know it would be best to have both but I`ve bought enough "toys" lately that I have to tone it down a little for awhile and if I want one the other`s got to go. If you had a choice between the two which would you pick and why? Marcus

Being that I am extremely pleased with my 40P, which for me is as accurate as my 75 or my Witness, and as its slide is no more chunky than an XD while its finish is much more durable (plus the fact that it has a hammer versus a striker), I would keep the 40P.

The XD feels like a polymer CZ75 to me(even more so than the CZ-100) and Would be my pick if I wanted a polymer framed pistol. That they come in .357 SIG is a real attraction.

I'd hate to loose a CZ owner in the community, but understand your thinking.

I love my XD-40, it feels good in my hand. But I really like the looks of the CZ's and one of them will probably be my next purchase. It usually comes down to what feels best to you.

CZ also has a better looking website.

Don`t worry too much about loosing a CZ owner from the fold Kev,I have 2 others. :) Marcus

Ok...

Lose=to miss from one's possession or from a customary or supposed place. i.e. Oh, I lost my jacket
Loose= To let loose, make loose or release. i.e. I loosed my Rottweiler on my annoying neighbors.

It's not that hard guys...;)

Carry on...

Ya know what pal at 11:15 when I`m doing 5 other things and trying to get a message typed before I get to bed I`m just typing fast and loose. Spelling and grammar just ain`t high on my list of priorities at that point. Guess you`ll just have to learn to live with that. :p

Back ON TOPIC, I decided to keep the CZ. I took it into the shop today and compared it to the XD and came to the conclusion that A) I like the trigger on the XD better B) I like the stainless slide C) I like everything else about the CZ much better than the XD. :) I`ll probably still get an XD at some point but it`ll probably be a Tactical 5" in a caliber I don`t have already like .357 Sig or .45 GAP. Marcus

Good choice on keeping the 40P. I've got both the XD-40 and the CZ-40P. The 40P is a better shooter. I do plan to get the 5" XD tactical someday though in .357 sig. I want to find one to shoot first though. I got the XD-40 before shooting it and it's not nearly as accurate as my 40P.

I`m glad I kept the 40P too. I would have missed it. :)

Yep .45GAP. A couple of the mags have done articles on them already. They`re not listed on their web site yet though. It looks like the 5" Tactical will be the first one chambered in .45 GAP. Marcus
