Check out CZ Shooters for info on holsters. CZs are known to take a lot and keep on running. The 40P is among them. Most every problem people had with ammo was within the first 20-50 rounds, and the gun worked themselves out from there.

congrats on the new gun!
here is a link to two holsters that Don hume makes, just go to a holster companies website and fill in the drop menus and it will take you rights to them if they make one for it. i don't personally like using a holster made for another weapon. that's why holsters are made, and if you are willing to pay the money for a nice pistol, and want a holster you might as well get one that fits that gun right!

Don't know about holsters
It is the same frame as the P01, so I would guess that P01 holsters will work.

Typical CZ. Abnormaly accurate, generally reliable, unpolished in some aspects, Second to no one in ergonomics. Triggers are serviceable but not the best (fixable though).
Nice pistol, awesome for the money. I saw them as low as $269.99 nib. I bought mine for $300 OTD, later got $50 back because it was actually used (dealer's mistake supposedly). The warranty card was filled out.
Mine had some feeding issues. The P.O. has obviously tried to modify the magazine, so I polished the mag lips, and works great.
A compact 40 with which I can hit gatorage bottles at 50 yards, one after the other, and all for <$300. What's not to like?

I put 150 rounds through today and never a ftf or a fte, also this is the most accurate handgun I have ever shot and recoil was hefty but manageable. I am thinking of getting another one at the next show in December if they have them. Also I have heard rumors that this is a limeted gun of only 1500 and this is not true dealer said they still make them just not alot of them and my gun was manufactured in 2006. Now if I could only find a holster to fit.

They do recoil a bit
Not too bad once you get used to it.
I found the actual trigger not to my liking. CZ has gone to this thin sharply curved one that cuts my finger. Swapped in a regular 75 B trigger and everything's good.

congrats on a great buy! I used to have a 40P; I only sold it because I wanted to consolidate my ammo (I had .380, 9mm, .40, and .45 in pistols - trips to the range got expensive real fast!)
While I had it, I found it to be a very reliable and accurate pistol. Incidentally, the slide for the 40P is from the Z-40, which was a joint venture with Colt that featured a .40cal slide mated to a 1911-style double-stack frame. I have replaced nothing. I know that on CZ's SOMETIMES the extractor springs are week but I have had no problems. Every round I have put through have been HOT LOADS, no low powerd stuff. DoubleTap and other like ammo.
I know after 3k mark I should have replaced the recoil spring but its been working fine and I don't want to mess with something that works.
I did replace the mag springs with 10% plus wolff ones
As for 40's they are called short and weeks for a reason. I have over 20K through at least 2 of my CZ based 10MM witness's and have only replaced springs. And trust me these have all been full house 10mm and they make a whole lot more power then the shortened round based on it ergo the 40S&W

Holster for CZ 40P
Try the Fobus RU-97. It was designed for the Ruger P97 but fits the 40P like ut was made for it. I would imagine other holsters designed for the Ruger P97 would fit also.
There are a few custom holster makers on the CZ Forum who make very nice leather holsters for the CZ 40P.

Since the 40P uses the same frame as the P01 and the slide from a 40B would you say that the 40p would be a very durable weapon since the po1 was put through a riggerious torture test, and you think it would work just fine for any SHTF or natural disaster where you would need a weapon for personal defense?
BTW I have other handguns but they are small mostly snubs and I purchased this one to put away in my BOB just in case the above situation should arise just be better preperared. Also in the 250-300 rounds I have put through it it has never had a malfunction of any kind but I was just wanting other opinions.

Ergonomic Perfection
The only problem was that in the first boxes of ammo, it would jam every few mags. With that full length slide, I chalked it up to the metal parts just matching up. The double action trigger pull is a little heavy, but having no safety, I prefered it being on the heavier side rather than the lighter side . Besides, the single action trigger pull was only a thumb swiping hammer cock away. The decocker is good, and makes me feel better than the Ruger I was also checking out, as for some reason watching the hammer fall completely down on a chambered round just kinda freaks me out
. The 40p kicks butt, and my only complaint about it would be that when I carried it IWB, it didn't matter if the hammer was cocked or not, it would rub my skin raw at the contact point. Nothing a holster change won't fix, but for now I guess I'll just stick to the Glock 23 for IWB carry. So for the dough, there really isn't a better deal going than that CZ 40P IMHO...

still 2 many choices how many rounds have you put through it, and is it now 100% reliable? Also do you think the 40P would be a durable relible weapon to stash away for a natural disaster such as Katrina or would you go with something proven like a Glock?
BTW I have only put a couple hundred rounds through mine but it has never burped once planning on another hundred or so in the morning and if it passes its going in the BOB and only getting shot once or twice a year.

The firearm hasn't had a stoppage in the last 150 or so, but I have been on a rifle shooting kick recently. So none of my handguns have gotten a work out(other than dry firing practice). I can't answer the storage/bob issue as this CZ40P hasn't been handled/abused enough to give a true measure of it's ability to withstand neglect or carrying conditions. I would probably keep my Glock 23 as my BOB gun, and the CZ40P as a home defense weapon, as it came with factory night sights, and like I said before, the single action trigger pull is only a thumb swipe away. My 23 has passed all torture tests I could think of, some of which I wouldn't dream of doing to an all steal firearm(like not oiling or cleaning it through 2 months of range use and carrying) . YMMV!

I love my 40P, it's with me every day! I was one of the fortunate ones that bought mine NIB from J&G Sales in AZ last December for $269.95!! Because I got such a smokin' deal, I couldn't leave well enough alone. See the custom refinish job performed by Mac's Shootin' Irons of Tucson..

Pard the mag in my CZ 40P is one that I picked up for a CZ 75 Compact 40 S&W. Fits just about perfectly and functions flawlessly. If I remember correctly, it only holds 8 rounds.

Thanks! The frame is KG Gunkote "Dark Earth" and the slide is KG Gunkote "Satin Black". The work was done by Mac's Shootin' Irons down Tuscon way.
It's the same as the refinish job he did on my CZ 75B 40 S&W.
