Wow! The price on these keeps going down! For that kind of money, you almost can't afford NOT to buy one.:D These are very good guns that could sell for $400 and up. I don't understand why people don't like them.

What is not to like at that price?? 1911 style grip/frame with 1911
type controls. Above average accuracy for a .40.

I found mine to have OK trigger pulls, but it was stone-cold reliable
with anything I stuffed into it. Was lighter than my 75B. Pointed very
well- and at the time, cost less than the 75B MIL. Flawless functioning
10-round mags, which make better sense than 10-shot 9mm mags to
a lot of shooters.

They are no longer making this gun (no longer on CZ-USA website). CDNN has a habit of buying last run guns.

A trigger job and PT Colt Defender night sights, make a good gun a great gun!

A lot more info at CLUB CZ40B:

One thing.... it IS a .40 S&W.

I already own one pistol in that caliber, and just don't have much use for that cartridge.

Just the top one of my reasons for passing on the CZ40.

Y'all have fun, though. :D

Its a strange world out there AINT IT! :D

A gun that Colt designed and contracted CZ to build for them..right before they almost/did go bankrupt....CZ takes over the design from Colt and makes the Z40 DAO gun into a CZ40B Trad. DA gun and it gets nominated for Guns and Ammo's "Gun of the Year"...pretty nice atta boy!

The design is pretty damn nice in actuality. 1911 style grip with a double stack mag....11 rnds of 40 S&W. Nice Novak style sights, Alloy frame with the Steel slide running inside the frame...ala standard CZ design. Nice CZ style internals, trigger mech and etc.....Standard Cond 1 capable safety.

Its got alot going for it.....but it fell on its face.....Why? Bad timing? To much a mix of 1911 "wanna be" style and CZ in one gun? Did it just suck and all of the people who have them and love them and G&A are on CRACK? (Ya I know  , but Im making a point! ) Was it a Colt that wasnt enough Colt, or a CZ that wasnt enough CZ?

Its one of those enigmatic situations that makes you go hmmmmmmmmm?

Personally If I wanted a 40, Ive shot the guns and like them alot. I just may get one in the future if its meant to be....who knows.

To all who have them....love em, shoot em and read em bed time stories.

Shoot well.............

the cz40b will take EAA witness 12 round hicapacity magazines so you can get 12+1. cdnninvestments has them going for $19.99 and 10 rounders going for 16.99. believe they fit flush.

Its got a lot going for it.....but it fell on its face.....Why?
Did these really sell that poorly? Does CZ-USA sell more CZ-97s than the CZ-40s? I can't see CZ selling a lot of 45ACP guns in Europe either.

I'm just hoping that CZ dropped the '40B to spool up production on a .40 S&W CZ-75 Compact PCR. That would be way

I had one of these but sold it when I was narrowing down my cals. I like the gun but the .40S&W is not one of the cals I have decided to keep around.

I'm npot really a .40 S&W fan, either. However, with Bar-Sto around there
could always be a possibility of .357 SIG tubes for the 40B.

I have been very tempted to buy one but haven't because of the caliber. I just don't see the justification of the .40 when I can reload 185 grain bullets in a .45ACP. If CZ would offer this pistol in different calibers I would probably get one.

Thanks for the heads up!

I have been wanting one for a while. I may have to get one this weekend. Been interested in experimenting with a .40. and Love CZ's.

I thought I was nuts getting a last of the species RAP401 but I love it.

Maybe I'll start a Noah's ark collection of gun's. I just need to trade something in.

Girlfriends birthday, Christmas, 2 trucks that need work, remodeling kitchen, storage barn out back and all I can think about is I "need" to buy one of these.

I guess I'll see if my dealer will give me some credit in trade of a low mileage stainless ruger mkII six inch with bsquare mount and a BSA red dot. I guess I could throw in that ishapore .308 too. I just hope he's game.

Decisions, decisions. -t
