My SON and I are CZ fans but when the 762X39 carbine along I was not to impressed, to memories of the HACKING noise a AK and a SKS makes, while I was in VIET-NAM. In the 60`s and 70`s. But I have warmed up to the rifle in a big way, it is now one of my favorites. Shoots surplus ammo very good but it shoots Wolf Brand hp`s just great. I called the guy at CZ in KC to tell them how good it shoots, under an inch at 100yds with the Wolf Brand hp`s, and they just laughed and told me that was the ammo the rifles was designed to shoot, and it sure does. I use this little rifle as my walk around rifle now and have taken Coyotes, a few Hogs and a couple of deer. I think we now have 4 or 5 cases of the ammo it likes and a line on 2 or 3 more cases, I may never have to reload for this rifle and that would be just great. Are any of you shooting a CZ 762X39 and how do you like it, and what type of ammo does yours like. I killed a Coyote at just over 200 yds with it last week and he was DRT. I put a 3-9x40 VX 11 on it for right now. ARE any of you shooting a CZ 762x39 if so for what , how do you like it, and what ammo do you use. We are thinking of buying another one. GOOD LUCK TO YOU: ken

I've got one and LOVE it.
I mounted a 2.5 x 20 Leupold on mine and shoot minute of POP can all day long.

I love mine as well. It has a Bushnell Banner 1-4.5 on it that does pretty well, but I'm tempted to take it off and just stick with the iron sights that are fantastic.

Mine has been about 4 MOA with Brown bear, 2-3 MOA with Wolf, and about 1.5 MOA with Yugoslavian surplus. Handloads with Hornady soft points do even better, but its hard to tell with just a 4x scope.

They are just super handy little rifles that carry well and handle even better.

My ONLY complaint is on the magazine, mine has had a few feeding issues. I need to send it back to CZ USA, I think it has a bad follower.

I do NOT have a "ton" of knowledge, sorry. :) I do like my little 527M carbine, VERY fun. I did have a heck of a big scope mounted on it, and off a front rest I managed one 1.5 inch group at 300 yards...I'll never do that again! She will turn good groups at all ranges, fun and light. Lately I dismounted the scope and went with the irons. I had a local gunsmith install a Marbles adjustable rear sight in place of the standard fixed, and she shoots great off the shoulder. She loves the Berry's 125 grain plated bullet over H-4895, BTW.
I think it's one of the greatest light rifles I ever have owned. :D

I love my CZ 527 in 7.62x39. I have two regrets, the scope rings are high because of the necessity to work the mauser action and don't give me as good a cheek weld. The second gripe is when I bought my first one several years ago, the price has now gone up $200-$300 from what I paid.

Otherwise, the Wolf 154 gr sp groups best, so I bought 500 rds out of the same lot for a few good years (decades) of shooting my small hill country deer in Texas. It has also worked well on a few small to mid-sized hogs.

I am going to switch scopes to one with a smaller objective lens so I can try the medium rings to see if the bolt hits the scope. There are some tips on the net to file down the bolt to clear the scope, but that just weakens the bolt in my opinion and defeats the purpose of having a strong mauser action.

My little bit of heaven in the hill country has several miles of trails, and it seems I select the CZ more often than my other knock-around choices, a Marlin 336 in 30-30 with ghost rings, a Remington 700 youth in 243 with a small leupold, or a Winchester 70 youth in .223. The CZ is close to the "perfect packing rifle", but I do have a Colt AR in 7.62x39 configuration that is seeing more action.

The lucky thing is I have a choice, and I thank God every time I pick up wood and steel and play cowboy for awhile.

CZ 762X39 rifle

Guys I drifted the rear sight out and that drops the scope a lot I use a Nikcon 3-9X40 and it clears the bolt (( NOT BY MUCH )). I also use a Blackhawk pad that just velcrows on so I can get my cheek down on the stock. I am getting more recoi sinceativy all the time and I need a good cheek weld on anything that recoils now. Just turning into an old wuss. Our CZ 762X39 is really just a great gun to go walking around with, light, short, and it has the power to take care of anything you might run into MY RUNNING DAY ARE OVER, here in KS. I wish we had bought 2 of these CZ`s because they are just about twice in price now. I am glad other people like this rifle to because mine has become and old friend. It is just a great gun to shoot and carry around with you when I am taking my walks in the woods. GOOD LUCK TO YOU: ken

I had one that I shot a great deal. It was a delightful little rifle.

Accuracy was quite good for such a light little carbine

cpt-t, I did sort of the same thing - since nobody makes an adjustable rear sight for the 527M, I asked a gunsmith friend of mine to help. Here's what I have now, a Marbles folding adjustable rear sight welded to a custom base.

Folded, it JUST clears the bell of the scope. It works great.

I considered one for a kid gun.I would like it a lot more at $500.At $700 there are too many good rifles competing with it.

I have a Leupold VXII 2-7x33 scope, Mounted in Talley rings (10005) On my CZ 527 carbine. Out of 6 cf rifles I have, My 527 carbin is the one I shoot the most.I have a lot of money in my BCM AR-15 for SHTF. Truth is if It did hit I'd grab the 527. It is a great little rifle.

Cz 527 762x39 rifle

steveo452: Your rifle is very nice and I bet you will enjoy it for the rest of your life. I can`t see me ever parting with one of our CZ`S, but I find my self using the 762X39 more and more. I feel very secure with this little rifle walking around in the woods or just sitting in my chair blind. I used to carry my CZ 22 HORNET most of the time but I feel more secure with the 762X39 now must be and age thing or something. But if I am going out just messing around at a new place that I have never been befor or if I am going to be sitting alone for a long period of time the 762X39 gets the nod more and more. Never know what you might find or who you might run in to walking around in the woods, and you might as well be prepared. I saw a brand new CZ 762X39 at a gun shop in Wichita today, boy have they come come up in price $749.00 that is 2 times more than what we paid for ours. I sure wish some one would buy it, because I really think we could probabley use a 2nd one. I cant`t tell you guys how much I have enjoyed talking to all you guys,((( THANKS ))). GOOD LUCK TO ALL OF YOU: ken

Yes It does, But It's realy not a problem shooting off hand. I've taken 5 deer so far between 75 and 125 yards. 3 of them DRT, 2 went about 20'. I see It as a 200yds. rifle max. Works well for my type of hunting, and where I hunt.
