I have an old CZ 70 that broke a firing pin about a year or so back, but I finally got around to ordering a replacement.
It arrived yesterday, changed out easy, and fires.
When I was test firing it, I noticed something hitting me in the face, with every shot, so I picked up the empties and to me, the primer strikes seem a bit deep.
Would this throw stinging little bits of invisible stuff back at me?
Can I file a little off the firing pin?
The new one seems to be about the thickness of a fingernail longer than the old one.
Here are a couple pictures.
Thanks.

The primers are not being pierced so I don't see a problem. I would not file on the FP. They are normally hard and any sharp edges may cause primers to pierce.

As to what was hitting you in the face, I don't know. Could have been powder reside if the wind was in your face.

No, don't mess with what's working. The primer strikes might be a little deeper than you're used to seeing, but ditto the above.

Looking at your pics I'm thinking maybe your ejector claw is chewing the rims a bit ... could be that's what's hitting you in the face. It's nothing you need to do anything about.

(except wear proper eye protection, natch)

This gun has always functioned fine until the back half of the firing pin fell out one day.
If you guys say it's good to go, then I'll go with it.
Thanks for the replies.
