I had been looking for a .22LR pistol for a while, and hadn't seen anything that caught my eye. I was initially excited about the SIG Mosquito, but after reading the reviews decided to look elsewhere. So, rather than buying a new pistol I got the Kadet kit (http://www.impactguns.com/store/80670301610.html).

The kit slides onto the frame of your CZ-75 and requires you to file down two spots for a snug fit. I used a knife sharpening stone and it took about an hour to figure everything out and get it assembled.

Everything functions similarly to the regular CZ-75 since the bottom half is your original gun. The sights are adjustable on the .22 (my 9mm slide's were not).

I shot a couple hundred rounds, and didn't have any failures with 4 or 5 kinds of .22's. Accuracy seems good, though it's hard to generalize with me behind the trigger. ;)

Disassembly and cleaning are roughly the same as with the original gun.

The CZ .22 LR "Kadet" Kit is one of the best .22 conversions on the market. It will fit onto all the CZ-75 variants including the compacts. They are well made, accurate and feed reliably. If you want a .22 with the feel of a full size pistol, get a CZ-75 and a Kadet Kit. You will not be dissappointed.

+1 The Kadet is a great "accessory" for your CZ 75!

If you have failures to fire, CZ has a sharper firing pin than the rounded one that came with the older Kadets. You may already have it, if you are not having to hit some rounds twice.

Enjoy your .22 - I think you will find it prints amazingly well, and helps your trigger control when you put the centerfire top end back on.

I had recently order a Kadet upper for my 75 about a couple of weeks ago from J&G $250 (still waiting for it). About a week after ordering it, I was at a gun show and they were selling complete CZ 75s with the Kadet upper for $350. IMO, if I had it to do over again, I would have just but a new CZ 75 with Kadet upper. In fact, I think that's what I'll do Tuesday. I'll still keep the kit for the 9mm, though. The additional benefit of the complete gun is that the slide assembly will be fitted correctly to and have the same serial number as the frame.

At $34 a pop, CZ Kadet magaines are not cheap.

That's about twice what a Ruger mag usually goes for.

That's the only thing that's stopped me from getting a Kadet kit.

The Kadet Kit comes with two mags. I don't need anymore than that, so mag prices aren't an issue for me. With the $$$ you save shooting .22LR you can buy lots of mags.

My CZ conversion kit fit nicely on my compact without any filing or modifications. The best CZ accessory item ever!

Man... you guys are tempting me to get one of these for my CZ 75

Would be nice to have to practice with everything else being the same... but I did get a Beretta Neos Deluxe 7.5" for the cost of the cadet kit instead... for my wife to shoot with me.

but still... tempting

Love mine. Not one single malfunction after about 3 bricks.

With a buddy of mine at the range the other day, shooting at a hanging pin about 80 yards out. "Hey man, watch this."

Thwap, swinging pin.

"Oh man, no way!"

Smirk, "Keep watching".

Thwap, jiggling pin again.

:D

For anyone in central and northern Ohio, Fin Feather Fur Outfitters has a sale on CZ75 Kadets (complete guns, not the kit) for $300. Sale started Nov. 1. They had 5 to begin with, I called last night after work to see if they had any left, was told 2. Drive 1½ hours there. Got there and examined the display model, looked perfect and would have been happy with that but the clerk went back and got an unopened one :). (Bought a Nikon Buckmaster 4.5-14X40 SF MD too.)

Trigger in single action is a bit creepy but it'll do.
