Have any of you experienced a CZ75 or any of their clones in .40S&W ? I think this gun series was built around the 9mm but I am wondering how it does with the .40S&W cartridge. Are they reliable ? Any pros and cons ? I'm talking about an all steel CZ 75 and/or clone .

Mine is actually polymer. It's a CZ75 clone from Tanfoglio. I also have two steel and one polymer 9mm clones, plus one steel and one polymer in 45acp. Obviously I like them. I've never had any problem with any of them. The 40 and the 45's shoot just fine. The design is about 50 years old now and they seem to have the bugs worked out. :)

If you took your time, you could get these polymer Tanfoglios for about $200 used on GB for a while. It was too good a deal to pass up, so I ended up with one in each caliber. I've owned "real" CZ's. They also work fine. My compact polymer 9mm is a Turkish clone. It also works fine. It's my favorite service pistol design.

My 40 S&W CZ75B is a favorite. Purchased it cheap when it seemed that everyone was dumping their 40s in favor of the FBI endorsed 9mm. Of course we all know the FBI is never worng..
The pistol is extremely tunable, and adaptable.
Changed mine to SAO, with tuned parts from Cajun and CZ Custom.
In fact, this morning I'm loading 250 rounds more for it.

I have a Tanfoglio clone all steel. Great gun. My son was shooting it when he was 13. I have had it for about 12 years, it has been flawless. Dead accurate. He loves that gun.....me too. Best wishes!

As a big CZ fan who owns several rare hard to find CZ pistols, the 40 S&W guns still elude me.
You can get them in the P06, which is the P01 but in 40, the regular B model and SP01.

Those guns are discontinued and now fetch a good premium.

The only 40 guns CZ still makes is the TS2 model and they are 1500 bucks.

Tanfoglio makes multiple versions of metal framed pistols. But beware they are NOT clones, no parts interchange. People have bought these "clones" thinking they bought a cheaper CZ and tried to upgrade or replace with CZ parts, it's simply not happening.

Yes, had a CZ TSO in 40SW. That pistol made 50 yard shots EASY. Incredibly accurate. I bought it for USPSA. Fantastic at its job. The problem wasn't the gun but the slow stiff old guy running it. There are no hang ups on the CZ 75. If you're thinking of getting one do so. Work with the factory 75 trigger for a while it will improve. If you have to have a very light DA pull, then it's going to cost you with custom work. Personally, you won't get burned or shorted with a CZ. Owned 75B Shadow 2 and a 75b tact with sup. sights in their light earth tone. those were 9mm but still never a problem. That TAC though had a bear DA pull. Glad I didn't sink money into it. I got my money back out of it when I moved it on. Probably wouldn't have if I had work done to it.

I got a CZ75 in 40S&W when they were selling at a bargain. It’s done well with no problems. The last gun I bought was a TS2 in the same caliber.

There was a 75B .40 S&W on consignment for $850 locally, at about the same time all my money went to buy a bunch of lumber for a project.

Someone else owns it now. :(

Stay safe.

I own an SP01 tactical in .40. No complaints - accurate and functions perfectly.

What i figured out after getting another cz is that all the ones i got with the SP01, and all the mecgar aftermarket ones, and all the ones i got with my shadow 2 in 9 can feed either 9 or 40. The shadow mags are even dual marked.

I had a Tanfolio Witness 10mm when I was younger. All steel and heavy!!!
Probably one of the heaviest handgun I've ever owned. I sold it and a bunch of other guns after being laid off after 9/11.

I realized I had a bunch of ammo for it so decided to shoot it all in 1 sitting. I was shooting pretty darn good with it, 300rds into it...
I still sold it off.

I went to the EAA Witness website , They have a thing that will show you it's import date and it's orginal SKU numbers. It shows my pistol was imported in 1997. It's pretty nice to be 26 years old.

Here is my still BNIB CZ 75 in .40 S&W. All steel and every bit just as good as my CZ 75's in 9mm.....
A little off topic; I called Cajun Gun Works and they said they could provide a 357 Sig barrel for it.....
IMHO that would be a tremendous combination of pistol and caliber!

First CZ I bought, after a milsurp CZ52, was a 75B in 40 cal. because 40 cal. was gonna be the best caliber EVER! LOL!! Still have it and like it but the 9mms get more workouts. Absolutely loving the idea of a drop in 357 SIG barrel! Had no idea such was possible. Note to self, call Starkist......and CGW !

Willing to bet that 357 sig barrel comes from Bar-sto.

So a side note, if your 40 cal barrel measures .550 a 9mm SP01 barrel drops in.

I had a full sized Witness in .40 S&W, it was fine. I only sold it because even an all steel gun in .40 seemed to be too much for my hand comfort at this point. I can shoot 9mm all day, and .45 ACP without problems, but the .40 seems to be asking for it, and I only had the Witness and an S&W 4006TSW in .40 anyway, so I just replaced them with 9mm. I had an Astra A75 in .40, and that wasn't pleasant at all, the 9mm is amazingly better.
