Okay, got a .22 LR conversion, the Kadet II, for my CZ 75 compact.

It will lock the slide back when I push in the magazine in, but if I'm just holding the grip (as if shooting) it won't lock the slide back. Is this a known problem? Is there a known solution? Do I need to call up CZ-USA?

Haven't gotten a chance to shoot it yet, if that changes anything.

Short post, but just a simple problem (I hope).

Most likely the magazine spring just isnt providing enough force to lift the slide stop all the way up to catch the slide, or the tab that engages the slide stop isnt contacting well. Ive seen that in both .22 conversions and normal centerfire pistols and magazines.

Also see how the thing feeds, its possible the catch hole in the magazine is a little too high and the mags ridding low. If so you may end up with FTFs.
Ive seen that happen on one .22lr 1911 conversion. Worked great when you held the mag up but would jam every few rounds when it was left to its own devices.

Okay, the tab engages perfectly.
Mag spring might be too weak though.

Still haven't shot it, but it does feed from slide lock without holding the mag.

Are there aftermarket extra power springs?

Either magazine spring is too weak to push up slide stop or
Slide is traveling too fast for magazine spring to push up follower (which then pushes up slide stop).

What ammo?

No ammo yet. Had some rain and snow turning "my" shooting range into a mudhole the past two weeks. If the sun comes out today and gets it dry I might go shoot it this afternoon.
Mountains are great, but the range never gets much sun in the winter!

So... I'm dry cycling it, and it isn't getting pushed up. It hooks on the tab on the follower, but it doesn't go up far enough to catch, unless I push on the bottom of the mag.

I'm waiting to shoot it before I do anything else, but does anyone make extra power springs for this?

How dirty is the magazine? It may need disassembly and cleaning.

Okay, I FINALLY took it out yesterday! I did clean up the magazines. I used the slide lock piece that locked the slide back the most reliably (it came with two) while dry cycling. I got all sorts of problems. Well, only one sort of problem, a bunch of times. The slide locked back every two or three shots, even when there was still ammo in the magazine. So... after a couple of magazines of that... I switched to the other one and it ran perfectly. I'm going to be putting a bunch of use in this...
