I posted this in another forums, but I think I see what needs done, just wondering if it was possible to do this myself safely, or if i might make the gun unsafe to operate

Here is a video of what happens. You can see the part (not sure the name) that holds the hammer back, and when you pull the trigger that part moves up and when it moves far enough up the hammer drops off of it and slams forward. The problem is that if I pull the trigger partway (see video) it slides along this piece without dropping off, so even in SA mode I have to pull the trigger partway, see the hammer move back a hair/the piece move up a bit, and then be ready to pull the rest of the way for the actual fire... And its close, so sometimes it does it and other times it doesnt, making it hard for consistant fire.

I was thinking that if I took the gun apart, and filed the bottom edge of the piece that moves upward to drop the hammer, that it would slide off of it when the trigger is pulled rather than stay on it... or is this more of a fit issue than it is a part needing rounded?

PS The gun also has trigger slap, and according to the almighty internet, the solution is to round the ends and taper the "lifting arm" on the sear if it is squared, has anyone else heard of this? Link on fixing trigger slap on a CZ 52

Trigger camming

in CZ pistols is common. The factory cuts on the sear and hammer are responsible. Check the home gunsmithing section at the CZforum for details. Jim Miossi is a very reputable CZ 'smith and provides action jobs that eliminate camming (and give a great trigger). Good luck!

I talked to Jim already, 4-6 month wait +3 week turnaround :what: I spoke with Mike at CZ and its 1-2 months turnaround (ie without the gun)

hence Im looking for something that maybe I could do with minor amount of experience in the mean time>?
