Does anyone else have a problem with their SP-01's mag release button? I think they enlarged it from the CZ-75 to the SP-01...

If I move just right with this pistol holstered in either my leg holster or bianchi OWB I can get the mag to drop out of the gun. While niether of these are SP-01-designed holsters, it seems like this shouldn't be happening quite so easily. Could I put a smaller mag-release on this gun? Alternatively, does anyone have a leather holster (don't like plastic) for an SP-01 that avoids this problem?

It's too bad. It's an awesome gun but I haven't really carried it in the past few years because of this...

Call CZ to see if they offer a shorter release, better yet, call CZ Custom shop(480-969-1311):)

According to CZ, the mag release between the SP-01 and B were not changed.

EDIT - I think I may have misrepresented what CZ said. Maybe they meant "the mag release was not changed BUT the frame was."

I bet the mag release is not in exactly the same spot or the leather has stretched on that Bianchi holster...I had the same problem with a Safariland holster back when I tried the reverse mag release on a SiG Sauer P226...as a Southpaw I thought it would be better but found it better to stick with the "normal" location...Safariland changed their holster design a bit to compensate...

The Newer mag release on the cz75 omega, sp-01, SA is larger then the plain jain cz 75b

Meh I just wish I could find a nice holster for this gun. A leather hip-holster or even an "open-carry" type thigh holster or tanker rig that will not interfere with this hugely protruding release button. It seems like the only thing out there are a few plastic IDPA-type holsters.

Honestly, Thats the only reasson I havent bought this gun. Shame, too. No holsters.

I got the even larger extended mag release from the custom shop on my CZ 75b SA and have had no problems with my Bianchi accumold cruiser duty thumbsnap, nor my bladetech stingray belt holsters.

why would you not expect to have problems with a holster not intended for the pistol you're putting into it....especially one designed for a Beretta, it's not even close to the shape of the CZ

Highnoon for leather holsters, Blade Tech for a duty holster or leg drop. On my CZ-75 SP-01 Phantom I use the Blade Tech RH WRS DUTY HOLSTER DOH TEK-LOK for duty wear and a High Noon Down Under w/ straps for concealed work.
