I've had my CZ-75 for a little bit now and I've enjoyed shooting it. I'm curious to give the CZ-75 SP-01 a try. For those who either own or have shot both, 1. is there a big difference in how the two guns perform/shoot and 2. would you say the 75b is worth selling to buy a SP-01? Yes, in a perfect world I'd keep the 75b and get the SP-01 also. But I may have to sell one before getting the other. The light rail on the SP-01 does not really matter to me, but the heavier frame does seem appealing for range use. Thanks.

They shoot about the same, but I like the reduced recoil on the SP-01.

Get the SP-01 shadow if you're just using it at the range.

I have a CZ 75BD and an SP-01 Tactical (both decocker models). I had the 75BD trigger smoothed out by a local gunsmith and the SP-01 came from Matt Mink with his "middle of the road" trigger job. All in all, the SP-01 cost me nearly twice as much as the 75BD, but it's no where near twice as nice. Yes, the heavier frame makes recoil management easier but the difference in the two guns isn't that dramatic. If I had it to do over again, I'd probably save myself the money and just stick with the 75. In this case, since I've already made the investment, I've chosen to keep the SP-01 and sell the 75BD.

I don't see why you have to sell one...

CZ's are very affordable. If you don't bother shopping around, it's easy to get one for $500 - For instance check budsgunshop.com and you can find it for $499 there with free shipping.

So, $50 a week, for 10 weeks, is too much or too long to wait for your next gun? That's the cost of eating lunch at a sandwich shop instead of brown bagging it, a night out with the boys, or a smoking habit - and only 2 and a half months. Or it's a few hours of overtime or a few weeks or a part-time job in the evenings. That's what I typically do when I need some more money, take on some temporary additional work.

I have resolved not to sell any firearms. Except in a case where one was defective or ill-suited to the shooter from day one, I have heard nothing but mournful tales of regret from those who sold a firearm and lived to think better of that decision.

Hope you can find a way to have your cake and eat it too. I think CZ's are great guns and I don't regret a single one I've ever purchased.
