So, I broke down on a paycheck and blew the cash on the crimson trace laser sight reportedly to fit a CZ 75B full size. My CZ 75 SP01 fits to it like a glove, EXCEPT it has an ambidextrous safety that completly blocks the fit of where the actual laser pipe fits on the right hand side. Now, how difficult would it be to change the safety out for a single side 1911 style lefty only. I also called Crimson Trace and they said I could dremel my right side safety lever down about 30% and the grip wrap laser fit would go over it. I"m not sure what to do, as i'm not very mechanically inclined and certianly no gunsmith. I can drive pins out and do minor mods and that is it.

Anyone with a dual side safety get a crimson trace to fit??

I love both, but am considering sending back the laser rather than screw up my no favorite 9mm semi-auto. It is one that will stay with me until all the dems yank them away from us, or I perish.

I think CZF had CZ USA cut off the right side of his ambi-safety and replace it with a plug so that he could put his crimson trace grips on it. (It was on a 75B stainless).

This is why you research before you make a purchase like the CTC. If you don't trust in your skills to use the dremel, you could always pay a gunsmith to do the work for you. I'd rather pay a professional than ruin a set of $250 CTC.

Hello

Don't worry, I am sure the safety on your CZ can be replaced if need be. Go ahead and dremel it. You'll feel better. Not to mention having a "custom" CZ.

A few beers of planning, 3 high speed sanding stones later

and my crimson trace is tightly in place, and my right hand safety lever is smooth and clean. I started out with course stones, and worked down to a fine stone, and then a sanding disk. Put a coat of flat black engine enamel over it, and it fit back on without any hitches!!

I got a quote for 55.00 for a cap to replace the right sight ambi safety lever. I figured it was worth some dremel work.

The weekend, the sighting in of the CT. If it stays within 3 inches at 15 yards i'll be ok with it. Nearly every crap laser i've had can't hold that. Even the laser max i had for a 1911 and glock had issues. having a laser 0.2 inches from the muzzle of any gun just fogs it up with unspent powder and residue after a few shots, slowing degrading the beam intensity or moving POI.
