CZ 75B Compact

I've got the aluminum alloy framed, compact CZ-75D PCR. It is my favorite carry gun and a darn accurate range gun too.

I've had revolvers jam.

The ejector rod can work loose and cause the cylinder to jam and not rotate. The first time it happens, and it seems to happen to everyone with a revolver at least once, its really puzzling.

You can also have problems with the cylinder and forcing cone not lining up properly, over time -- can cause accuracy issues.

Revolvers are, as noted, generally more reliable -- but they have their own issues.

I've got a CZ-75B Compact, in satin nickel. Nice gun, very accurate. But heavy.

I generally carry a Kel-Tec P3AT or a Sphinx [CZ-75 clone] Compact, or a Kahr P9, when I carry. The Sphinx is the nicest of the bunch. I don't carry the CZ much, now that I have the Sphinx. (I also have a Sphinx semi-compact that is DAO. Also nice, beautifully made, but the DAO trigger is, for me, more challenging.)

Of course - no mechanical device is 100% perfect/foolproof/etc. My PO1 has had FTF with my own handloads, which were determined to be overlong OAL. My wifes RAMI proved to be even more sensitive to OAL from my handloads, and rounds the PO1 and PCR thought very well of, the RAMI would choke on. Never on factory, just my stuff, back while I was figuring out HOW to reload.
I have personally had Glocks fail on me, watched an on duty police officer's HK USP fall apart,(seen 6 USPs removed from our rental shelf in peices), watched a Colt 1911 send it's frontsight down range, saw a Berretta splt its slide block, handled a SiG P220 that cracked the frame, saw a SiG P230 thathad every spring in it but the trigger spring fail, etc., etc. Yes, any mechanical device can and will fail, which is why the prudent carry spare magazines, (most common failure in an auto IS the mag), and a BUG, if possible - I just had to sell mine.:( So when I get a decent rig, the Smith 10-8 will ride as BUG, (kinda big, I know), and I will, {STAND BY, LIBERAL LEFTIST TERM COMING UP}, feel better...

Whoops, should have also noted I have had two Taurus revolvers fail on me, one with a bent ejector rod, the other with a bent crane (!), and I have seen Smith revolvers fall out of time, had a Colt Trooper III that broke the cylinder latch release, and have a Smith 10-5 in the shop with a broken hammer. Everything mechanical can/will fail eventually, but high quality stuff, like CZ/Smith/Etc, lasts longer than others. Ask me about the kind with the Tec -9, broken frame, asked me if he could GLUE it together.

I have had just as many problems with revolvers as I have had with automatics. Actually, probably more.
And we are not talking about cheap ones here either... I can think of three that I have had with Smith & Wessons and one with a Ruger single action (which are thought of as a very solid handgun).
