CZ-75B Compact or P-o1, etc.?

The CZ-75B Compact (do they still make that?) looks like all that one would need for a gun of that type, and I like its looks better than CZ-P-01 and similar models.

Is there any accuracy or other advantage to these later models?

How do prices compare? Is the Compact a steel frame or light alloy like later ones?

75B Compact is a steel frame with a safety. P0-1 is an aluminum frame with a decocker. Another option is the PCR which is an aluminum frame w/decocker but no rail on the front.

The 75 Compact is, IMHO, the perfect gun. I also have a PCR. My Compact has the metal bottomed mags while the PCR has the plastic base that extends a bit making it slightly more comfortable. For some reason, the more comfortable PCR mags don't snap securely into place in the Compact. You'd think they'd be perfectly interchangable. Close, but not perfect.
The PCR carries a bit better and handles a bit better because of the slightly extended magazine. But, the Compact is just the greatest thing ever. Very, very solid and accurate yet still small. Just great. I'd be lost without it.

Until a friend talked me into selling it to her last week, I had a basic CZ-75B that I loved. I plan to replace it with the stainless version.

Will the compact models shoot as well as the standard gun? It was one of the most accurate out of the box pistols that I've ever fired.

y experience with my PCR model is that it is very accurate. I don't have a full size CZ75 but I have a Browning Hi-Power and I am more accurate with the PCR.
It probably has more to do with me than the Hi-Power, but it's what works best for me.

The PCR and PO1 are decockers, while theCompact has a standard safety, manual decock needed. If you carry C&L, the Compact is for you. If you like deockers, and don't need an M3 rail, go PCR. If you like a rail, forged alloy frame, and would like factory Crimson Trace Lasergrips, go PO1.

Or wait a month for the new P06, the PO1 in 40SW...

I have a compact and full size 75s. Both shoot well and function the same. Apparently cZ made some compacts with an aluminum frame, but they are rare. I missed the opportunity to buy one and regret it as I sure would like a lightweight compact.

The PCR is a perfect carry piece. De cocker without the light rail.

The CZ models mentioned are nice. The 75B Stainless is a cut above the regular 75B.

I should mention that there are PLENTY of CZ PICS at the CZ-ZONE for you guys that
are on the fence about which CZ to buy next.

Consider the decocker vs. safety thing...

The gun WITH the safety can be safely decocked, but the gun with the decocker cannot be put on safe.

The decocker guns are much more complex. The 'regular' CZ 7 series with the manual safety is fairly easy to detail strip to tweek, polish, and fix yourself. If a trigger spring breaks (and they CAN), you can replace it yourself in the Compact pretty easily. With the P01 or PCR, you'll pay shipping back to CZ for $40+.

But, the P01 and PCR are great guns also, and a tad lighter. If you REALLY want the decocker buy the PCR or P01. If you REALLY want a rail, get the P01.

I have 2 CZ 75 Compacts (9mm-40S&W) and like both. The 9mm is satin nickle and very easy to shoot accuractely, the 40 has more snap to it and not quite as accurate in my hands but accurate enough.
The 40 S&W has the short rail which I do not care for and may make it a little front heavy. But over all I like the 40 round better.
