I did a search and can't find anything on this, so I pose my question to the masses.

Has anyone put an overtravel limit screw in a CZ-75B trigger? A buddy has one and it shoots extremely well, but with the long travel after trigger break and relatively slow lock time you MUST follow through very well to get really good accuracy out of it. Switching between it and a couple highly tuned SA 1911's and 22 target types is a bit of a pain. The SA trigger on the CZ is beautiful for a box stock gun, 5 pounds or so and crisp. The extra travel is the only complaint on the gun, everything else is good to great. Reducing the lock time substantially would help a lot, but not as much as the screw don't think.

Just playing with the idea right now, and hoping to get some input from those more familiar with the internals of the design.

Opinions?

Back when the CZ was a hot item in the ISPC circuit, trigger stops were considered necessary additions on the single action CZ/EAA guns used.

Brownell's sell a single action-only trigger with an installed stop screw. I believe they also sell stop screws for any pistol.

There is no real reason a stop can't be installed in the CZ.
Since the stops work well on revolvers, they will work equally well on a DA auto.

The only "watch out" is to get the stop screw properly installed and LockTited in place on the thin CZ trigger.

My (military surplus) CZ85B (made in 1994) came with an overtravel limit screw as standard. My guess is that you can get a (drilled) genuine CZ trigger with the screw from CZ USA. Hope this helps.

Stay Safe ;)

Good info guys, exactly what I was looking for. I appreciate it.

My 85 Combat comes with an overtravel scew. So does the SA and the IPSC and Champion versions. Parts are available from Mike at CZ-USA.COM

I didn't know that.
May not have been available ten years ago when I got mine, anyhow. Then I had FLG pull the trigger and drill it for a trigger stop screw. It helps a lot.

The 85 Combat has the adj. on the trigger and retains double action...the IPSC Champion trigger is an SA only trigger and has both adjustments...both will drop right into a 75-85 series gun.

Shoot well

As PCRCCW said,

The CZ 85 COMBAT trigger has an overtravel screw. The steel Champion SA-only trigger has both an overtravel and take-up screw. You should be able to buy either one of these triggers from CZ and have it "drop in" to your 75B/85. The original plastic trigger that comes in the 75B-SA has only an overtravel screw.

My 75B-SA and my 85 COMBAT both have the steel Champion SA-only trigger and I am fairly happy with them.

Some additional overtravel is required for the sear to clear the half-cock hammer hooks. On "B" models, additional take-up is required to actuate the firing pin block mechanism.

On the 85 COMBAT & the SA trigger, I think some take-up is still required with the stock hammer/sear engagement so the trigger transfer bar does not interfere with the bottom of the sear. But I am not an expert with CZ actions; I've just taken mine apart and examined them.
