I've been looking for a serviced sized auto loader for a few years now unsuccessfully. I like my 1911's and shoot them well, but wanted something with a bit more capacity and I'm not a big fan of the double stack 1911's

I bought and sold a number of popular service pistols a few Glocks, and some 3rd Gen Smith auto loaders, shot some XD's and FNX/S, but none of them shot as well as I wanted. I wanted something I shot as well as my 1911's and revolvers.

Well, I was in my local fun store talking with a buddy and noticed they had a few CZ's in the case. Had my buddy pull them out and I fell in love with the grip and controls of the safety models, and thought the trigger was pretty good on both models they had.

I was sold, I had long wanted a CZ 75 of some flavor to wring out, I just didn't want to buy one without feeling the ergo's and was unsure which of the variations I would want to go with.

I liked the beavertail of the SP-01 but I won't ever mount anything on the rail. I also dislike decockers. I do like cocked and locked carry however. The DA trigger I was kind of ambivalent about as I can carry C&L

So I settled down with the CZ website and slimmed my choices to the CZ 75B Stainless (as it gets the extended beavertail but no rail) and the CZ 75B SA as it gets the beavertail, plus an extended amibi safety and a slightly beefier slide for recoil

Well, I put an opening minimum bid of 450 on a CZ 75B SA and won it. Finally picked up the little guy today, got it home cleaned and lubed it up and burnt rubber to get to the range.

I only had two boxes of some cheap remanufactured 115gr, but no hiccups and accuracy was outstanding!

5rds standing at 10yrds!
Had some flyers here and there, but I'll chalk that up to me getting settled in with a new gun, plus remanufactured mixed brass ammmo. All in all, I'm extremely happy with my purchase. I was figuring a trigger job would be a necessity but there's only a little grit in the trigger and it's gotten notably better that when I first tried it.

I've got a case of 1000rds on it's way, I'll re-evaluate when I've got a bit more substantial round count, but I'm only expecting god things.

Congratulations. I'm betting this might not be your last CZ. :)

If you are also a 45 ACP guy, you should try a 97 B. Awesome gun, just like the 75 family.

If you have any use for a smaller gun, try a 75 D PCR. Mine makes me completely uninterested in my HK P2000SK.

Welcome to the CZ Club!

TallBall I've been following your thread closely waiting for mine to show up.

The new CZ 97 B's look pretty nice with the factory VZ grips and fiber optic sights.

If I wasn't looking for something with a bit more emphasis on capacity I could have very easily ended up with one.

I was not expecting the trigger to be this nice. The reset is nice and positive although I might still disable the hammer block to get the reset a little shorter, and I might drill and tap the stock trigger for a pre travel adjustment crew. I haven't decided yet.

Flying Tiger, are those grips a little thinner than the other rubber grips? I like the coke bottle shape, but wouldn't mind them a bit thinner.

My 75-B Police is my favorite gun to shoot. I don't carry full sized but I have never had any malfunction at all with the gun. It is a great shooter, feels good, is amply accurate, and looks good. What more could anyone want?

I don't own one yet , but the SA is the one that I have on my list . I think you made a good choice and you got it for a good price .

Congrats on the new CZ 75B SA! A great gun and you got it for a very decent price! My CZ P01, like my Browning Hi-Power, has one of the most comfortable grip designs of any double stack 9mm. out there.

My CZ's have become my favorite pistols. My Pre-B 75 is my favorite followed by a 97B, PCR, 75B, Kadet, and Kadet Kit. All are/were stellar right out of the box. Even the Pre-B was NIB when I bought it. They all a very accurate, and very reliable.

I put a finger grove grip on mine, then bought a adjustable sight set with red fiber optic front sight. My hits are much improved at longer ranges.

We seem to have the same tastes in pistols. I love the CZ handguns, and have the same guns as you except I have an 85 Combat instead of the Pre-B, and I only have a Kadet kit, no Kadet. The PCR is an awesome gun, don't you think? It instantly made me completely lose interest in my HK P2000SK.

bannockburn, I too love the Hi Power. Tough competition with the CZ 75 family for best feel in hand. A little bit apples and oranges, but both are fantastic.

Yes, the PCR is one of the best all around 9MM's made. It is often my carry gun, but also nightstand gun, and good for range work. I have to admit, I love my Browning Hi Power, but I find I shoot my CZ's a lot more.

Our LGS has a Czechmate in the case. My God, that thing is crazy amazing. Trigger is like glass and around 2 pounds. Sigh.

So you have a 75SA, very nice. My 'customized' 97 is basically the same thing now, having been converted to SAO. Work in progress.:scrutiny:

A warning, don't try the CZ rifles unless you plan to take it home. :p

Once my case of ammo shows up from LAX, I'll update again.

Hopefully I'll be able to add my girlfriend's thoughts on it.
Still looking for an auto she likes. She likes all my revolvers!

I must confess to being a 1911 guy and only shooting .45. I know, a limited experience. A friend at the range offered to let me shoot his CZ75B SA. Big mistake ( for me ). I really enjoyed it. With the stock trigger it shot as well as my 1911s. This is going to cost me!

bgw45, I'm mainly a 1911 and revolver shooter.
The CZ 75 feels very "familar" in my hands while still being different.
I'm really happy with my purchase. I'm glad i decided against a double stack 9mm 1911.

SSN vet, if anything I might drop in one of the aftermarket hammers just to reduce the camming when pulling the trigger.
I *may* try recutting the angle on the stock hammer to either minimize or eliminate it and if I bone it up, I'll buy the CZ custom shop hammer

As is, it is a very nice trigger. I'll reevaluate after I get some more trigger time with it. I may just leave well enough alone (blasphemy!)

bgw45,
As I posted above, if you like 45 ACP, and you liked the 75 B, you REALLY should check out the CZ 97 B. I wouldn't say it makes the 75 B series of guns feel inferior, but it is an even more "substantial" gun IMO. I LOVE the 75 platform and have 3 of them, but the 97 B is also outstanding. Many people seem to get the impression that the 97 B is a lot larger in the grip, but that doesn't seem true to me -- it's just tiny fractions of an inch by my measurements and by my handling impressions. Mine is a 2013+ version, BTW. The older ones may well have felt larger in the grip area.

A recently manufactured 97B with some thin grips was definitely in the running for my "good shooting service pistol" I may very well still end up with one. Although if I get another 45acp, it'll probably be a Colt XSE commander.
But the one AFTER that?! Maybe!

You guys gotta stop. My budget is already spread thin as is. I was kinda thinking 97 since I don't reload nine. I'll have to check out the features of the 97 and compare it to a 75b sa. I'm wondering if the spring setup in the 97 would run my target loads. Thanks for the suggestion.

Let me continue to enable. :D

If it won't, a slightly lighter spring from these guys https://cajungunworks.com/product-category/cz-97b-bd/ or CZCustom.com will solve any issues.
