A week or so I go I was at the shooting range when the trigger return spring on my CZ 75BD broke. I've already sent it in to my LGS to have them replace the part but I would like to know if this has potential to be a recurring issue. Has anyone else had an issue like this??

When I asked CZ Custom a few days ago what typically goes out on the 75D Compact the trigger return spring was one part mentioned.
Assume that'd be consistent across model lines.

And that does NOT mean it's a defect or that it'll happen to every gun early on.
The context was extended use.

Is yours a high-mileage pistol?

Broken trigger return springs are not uncommon in autoloading pistols. I shoot SIGs and keep a spare on hand. Never broken one yet but it does not hurt to replace them every 10,000 rounds or sooner as they are inexpensive. On a SIG you just need to remove the right side grip and it is easily replaced there. Sometimes on rare occasion a bad batch of springs get out and one may experience one breaking prematurely but once you get yours replaced you should be good to go for several thousand rounds.

Dry firing can break the spring, just keep the new one oiled up.

My 75B lasted about 20K rds +dry fire, but keep it wet. My second spring (a better designed one from the CZ Custom shop) was up to 60K rds when I went to a new CZ 75 Shadow.
I have a spare T.S. and slide release. The Slide release broke at about the sam 20K rds and a second one broke about 50K.
I ran my 75B fairly wet. "It'll sling off any oil it doesn't need." YMMV
