If your looking for something compact, it would seem that your looking for a secondary carry ...... the G-19 would be my choice for an alternative carry(all great guns though).

As a range shooter I'd choose a full size CZ-75b SA or CZ SP01.

I have both, so I think I can offer a suggestion. Both are excellent handguns and will serve you well no matter which you choose. Thay are, however, as different as night and day as far as grip size and controls. A great idea would be to shoot each, if you are able, if not, at the very least, get a feel for them in your hands and go with the one that is more comfortable.

For me, the XD9 is more comfortable because my hands are smaller, and as a consequence gets much more love in terms of range time. I still like the CZ75 and will never sell/trade her.
