I have a CZ-82 9mm Makarov that I really like. It is in VERY-GOOD condition with only a couple of slight paint chips. But I am considering redoing the finish on the metal, which means removing the existing paint. I don't think that's too much of a problem. I can get the paint off. Here's my questions.

1. I've heard of some people that have stripped the entire gun slide and frame down and said they really liked it the way it was. Steel. Is this common, and will there be major rust issues or similar if I keep it properly oiled. (I also live in a very low humidity environment)???

2. If I do decide to refinish it, do I HAVE to disassemble the entire gun. I.e. take down ALL 50+ pieces, or can I leave certain parts, including those in the frame assembled?

3. If I do have to disassemble it completely, what is the best refinishing for gun? I like the looks of blue as well as parkerizing. Which one provides the best finish that looks good and is durable?

4. And depending on the method; e.g. duracoat, cold blue, hot blue, parker, etc... what is considered the "Better Brands"?

Thanks.... Mike.....
