Picked up a surplus CZ-82 the other day.
I have to say this is a mighty impressive little handgun!
Finish is kinda beat, but I'll Duracoat it to fix that.
Pleasure to shoot, great feel in my hand.
Api safety and mag release, double-single action, theres a lot to like about this gun.

Best of all, I took it home for $200 total, tax and all!

They're wonderful pistols! They seemed incredibly underrated for the longest time, but it appears they're much more appreciated these days (and justifiably so).

What an ugly POS. Please send it to me post-haste so it can join my similar POS in my gun safe :D

Seriously, everybody stop buying these, you're driving the price up.

they're awesome little guns. Just cant beat em for the money. I bought two of em.

I have had one small issue with this gun.

50 rounds of steel case "Monarch" FMJ ran flawlessly.

Next box, S&B Brass case, FMJ. Usually my preferred brand of ammo in any handgun, and the ammo CZ uses in test firing their guns.

Ran 36 rounds(three mags). Had at least two, as many as four, failures to fire on first strike. Most rounds fired on the second strike, a couple needed a third.

After the failures with the first mag of S&B, I stripped the slide, cleaned and lubed with CLP. Subsequent two, as said, still failed.

Bought a box of Silver Bear HP, ran 50 rounds, no problem.

Me thinks the S&B primers are a tad hard for this particular gun.

Since it's not a primary carry gun, I'll probably just keep running Silver Bear or some other "bargain" brand.

CZ is a quality act all the way around. They make fantastic firearms. As far as the finish companies like CCR can refinish them in all manner of different ways and prices. Great folks to deal with. The 9x18 caliber compares favorably with good .38 Specials. Lighter bullets of course. But 12+1 on an easy shooting accurate gun makes for a winner. Hornady used to make JHP's for them and I believe Cor Bon did also. Wolf and I believe Silver Bear make some JHP's that actually work pretty well in jello tests. Th guns will about last forever. Big for the caliber maybe. But still for the price their is nothing to touch it.

Congratulations... on your 'little' addition. Another great gun from CZ.
Simple, durable, very accurate and a total pleasure to shoot!
If you decide to Duracoat it, send some pics... it'll be a beautiful new gun.
Was able to get an NIB military gun (holster and all) for just alittle more and jumped on it...
As they say "She's a keeper!"

I will choose the CZ82 over any version of the Makarov every single time.
Best 9mm Mak for the buck!

I've been looking for a CZ-82 for years, but I have yet to find one that didn't look like it was dragged behind a truck before falling down the side of a mountain into a wood chipper.

Though I hold plenty of respect for the Makarov and understand its appeal, I completely agree. The CZ-82 might be more complex in its construction, it offers quite a bit. Consider they still sell for less than the Makarov, I'd would suggest a CZ-82 over a Mak without hesitation. In the hand, it really feels much more like a Western-designed handgun than something designed behind the iron curtain.

Gbelleh, I think my CZ-82 has done just that at least twice. It's a wonder it works as wonderfully as it does.

the painted on finish chips if you so much as look at it, unfortunately. that said, if you get lucky, you can still get a good one. one of my cz-82s was purchased from classic arms a couple years ago, and it was in 100% perfect NIB condition.

if you want a comm-bloc gun that's 100% in appearance, southern ohio gun has makarovs and pa-63's that are in pristine condition.

You have a reliable handgun which shoots a round more powerful than a .380, with a double stack, made by a top tier company for bargain basement prices. What's not to like?
