I've been having a blast with my surplus CZ-82 recently. It's completely reliable, I have no trouble hitting a paper plate at 20 or 25 yards, and it's got 12 rounds a magazine to boot. If I wasn't so partial to the Ruger GP100, I'd say the CZ-82 is my favorite handgun!

But every range I've been to in western MO has always brought a group of onlookers with the same question: "What the hell is that thing? A Makarov?". Seemingly NO one knows about these great little pistols. I find this bewildering. You can find good CZ-82's at several online dealers like Centerfire Systems for under $200 dollars!

The only possible complaint I could have would be the cost of the magazines (around $30). But still, has no one reviewed or posted any information on these great little pistols? Like Chuckshawks? I think the market needs a little waking-up.

Perhaps you should do a search. I think you'll find about a million posts on the CZ82.

...correction, a million and one now.

Sleeper, yes. The finish sucks and the beavertail digs into the web of my thumb... well, the grips get loose too and the magazine needs to be smacked for it to lock in my gun... BUT, other than those things, great gun. Yes, 100% reliable and more accurate than most of my other guns. I liked it so much, I bought two. Plan on refinishing one in a "dual-tone with the slide, trigger guard, and safety black, barrel/receiver in brushed silver Gun Kote. It'll probably get a post later.
