I finally got my CZ-97 out to the range, and I've discovered that it doesn't like Rainier bullets (230 grn plated round nose), which is what all of my on-hand handloads used.
It does just fine with the two brands of factory ammo-Remington and Independance-that I tried. With the Rainiers in my handloads, I'd way about 1 round in 10 hung up on the feed ramp.
Looking at the rounds side by side, the Rainiers had a bit of a truncated cone shape to them, which a visible 'corner', where the others had a smooth round shape. I figure the different shape is what causes the feed issues.
Good thing I don't have any more of those Rainiers.
Anyone else run into this issue?
Other than that, it ran beautifully. Tight groups (for me) just a touch left of point of aim. And it made my Sig 220, shooting the same ammo, look like *ss.
I do want to put a 16# Wolff spring in it, though.
