Here's the deal. I have had a P0-1 for 4 yrs and it has been excellent. No malfs, accurate, and the the trigger has smoothed out nicely.
A local store has a P0-1 marked at $329 which is a great price. The problem is that I don't need another 9mm as I have plenty already, especially in the midsize category. I was planning on a Walther PPS as my next pistol, but that price is very tempting. I paid $399 for my first P0-1 and thought was a good price.
So, what do you think? I am seriously considering going back tomorrow and putting this pistol on layaway. For comparison, they have a .40 Rami listed at $449.

If its NIB for $329, I wouldnt hesitate. Heck, even if used that would be an excellent price.

The only problem I've observed (over the years) with bargains is that if you don't need the stuff, then no matter how low the price it really isn't a bargain. Unless you're going to turn around and sell it for a profit.

In your case, if you have eyes for a PPS ( good eyes, BTW - I have my eyes on one too,) will dropping $329 on a fantastic deal on something else get you any closer to that PPS? If you can buy the PPS next week (month/whatever) anyway, then go for the CZ - personally I like to have more than one of each of my favorite guns anyway.

But if buying a bargain means you CAN'T get that PPS in the foreseeable future, have you really done yourself a favor?

Just a thought from a long-time bargain buyer. (Hey, would you like to buy a . . . )

What can you do with two P01s that you can't do with one? $70 off is a good buy, but not if you don't need a second one. Since there aren't really any immediate laws that might prevent you from acquiring one in the future, like on "Assault Rifles", I'd pass. Plus, I've seen P01s go as cheap as $300 used in the Los Angeles Area.

Personally, I'd rather put it into something that you actually want.

The word on CZ's is slowly getting out. As a result they are selling like hotcakes. Prices are crawling up, as more people realize what GREAT pistols they are.
Me? I have a Black P-01. A Two-tone P-01. A P-01 with a Kadet mounted on it.:D:D:D

You didn't mention if the $329 P-01 was NIB or used.

If it was NIB, I wouldn't hesitate to get it at that price, even if I already owned one. You could probably sell it subsequently at a higher price, if you decide that you don't need two P-01s.

Just my $0.02.

It seems your real problem is thinking you could ever have enough guns. Get the P-01.

Or save and get a P-06 or the SP-01 in .40 when they come available.

It depends on what you use it for. If your P01 is your primary carry gun, I'd say get a second. Shoot it enough to make sure it is reliable with your carry ammo and put it away. If your primary ever goes down for repair or it is used in a shooting and becomes evidence, you have a spare available that uses the same holsters, magazines, and manual at arms. If it isn't a carry gun, I'd pass and get something else that you want, like the PPS.

Well, I passed on the P-01. I figured the money would be better spent fixing my car as it looks like my CV joint is crapping out.
My P-01 is not a carry gun so I don't really need a duplicate, which I do have of my carry guns.
As far as the P-06 no thanks. I have no interest in the .40.
I guess I'll just have to start saving for that PPS after all, maybe a nice Christmas present for myself.
Thanks for the advice guys.
