Anyone ever carried these IWB? Anyone with experience with both?

Local store (where I have credit) has the P-01 in stock. They never carry the PCR. I was thinking of holding out for the PCR for one reason....the nose is narrower for IWB carry. BUT, I was thinking....will the slightly wider nose of the P-01 matter since it is only at the end of the barrel that is noticeably wider. Isn't it the area of the gun near the waist band that matters most (of course slim grips are nice too....but the grips are the same on these two models)

So, does the wider nose REALLY effect carry since that part is further down your pants where it will be less noticed?

Also, will it be more difficult to find holsters for the P-01? I figure the PCR may fit in holsters made for other guns. (ie: my mak fits in my BHP holster and somewhat losely fits in my RAMI holster)

The PCR has been discontinued, so if you want one...you might have to search on GB or GunsAmerica.

I had the P-01 and I carried IWB without any issues. I sold the P-01, but have a compact. The compact and the P-01/PCR are similar. My compact has a safety versus a decocker (P-01). No light rail on the PCR or compact. To me, the best feature for those pistols are the rubber grips. Those pistols feel the best in my hands...compared to every pistol I've held.

I just picked up my P-01 today and haven't selected a holster for it. I'm used to carrying my stubby .380 iwb but I'm currently having a problem. See I'm starting to gain weight so even carrying my .380 is uncomfortable anymore.

If I want to continue carrying iwb I need to buy new pants to go with my new gun.

And by the way...yes it has been a PAIN to even find a holster for my P-01. Found some close matches in leather or vinyl if you look at Sig 229 or XD type but have yet to find a kydex type form fitted for it :(. Cheap universal types my local gun shops only have left handed in stock.

I believe that the PCR's are still available. I'm not sure if the early models had PCR on them but they are available as the Compact D. They are listed on the web site.

I have a PCR and find it to be very comfortable for concealed carry. I'm going to be getting a P-01 for the nightstand.

Check the various CZ Forums for other people's opinions.

The PCR is still available, no CZ pistol models have been discontinued. The PO1 is now available with Crimson Trace Lasergrips, and the CZ-2075 RAMI now comes in a poly frame as an option, but nothing removed from the line up.
I have carried both my PO1, and PCR IWB, no problem. My PO1 is riding IWB right now, Bianchi M-100 rig, no discomfort whatsoever. A decent holster makes the differance. A cheap rig will make you uncomfortable, now matter how well designed the pistol.

I stand corrected about the PCR being discontiued. I thought I read it on the CZ forums a few months ago that the PCR was discontiued because of the P 01 was an "upgrade."

For an excellent holster, try c-rusty sherrick. He uses horsehide which is stronger and thinner than cowhide. He made an owb holster for my PCR that is
great. It's a ultra high ride straight drop that is excellent at concealment.

Comptac makes holsters specifically for the P-01, and if you need a cheap paddle holster for range use or around the house, the Fobus HK1 works well.

As far as carrying concealed, I have never had any issues with my P-01. The relative width of the front of the slide, compared to the PCR, does not affect my ability to conceal it at all, since it is below the beltline. With the right holster and a good belt, it works fine.

Thanks for the replies.
I bought the P-01 tonight.

It actually fits in my RAMI holster by HBE. Well, it is a little tight. Any suggestions on stretching it just a bit?

Seems like I read somewhere that you wrap something around your gun and put it inside the holster for a while. But I can't recall what it was you wrap it in.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING AN UNLOADED GUN!!! CHECK TWICE!!!

If you have a fairly heavy zip-loc type bag you can put your gun in that to streach a holster. Many holsters come in bags like this from the manufacturer. You could also use a dress sock or similar. Don't use a heavy sock (wool, tube, etc.) as they will strech the holster too much. Something like a Gold Toe or a thin running/cycling sock works well.

Leave the gun in the holster for a few hours or over night. No need to wet the holster, you just want to strech it a very small amount.

Good luck.
