This looks like it could be a serious competitor to the polymer goliaths m&p, glock, and xd... Is the jury out on the p07??? Whats the word on it? thanks.

The Jury is in!

Some minor problems with a few of them, but they are being worked out by CZ-USA in a timely manner.

I'll be picking one up later this year.
I have another CZ polymer framed project right now.

Thanks, can you tell me what those minor problems are?? Also, post pics and a range report of yours when you get it.
Thanks!

I've already posted some photos and commentary to another threat, but since you asked:

The trigger is great. This a new simplified trigger mechanism and is much smoother and lighter than the one they were putting on the P01.

The grip has good ergonomics and "feel". It is flat and thinner than you would expect, which is good for concealment. The decocker and slide release are very flat as well...again, good for concealment. With all of the flat and thinness to it they have provided rough surfaces where you need it so that you grip remains positive and the flat controls are workable.

Sights are good although I would prefer night sights. They are supposed to be available but I have not seen them on CZ's website.

The pistol also comes with an additional safety if you want to convert the SA/DA operation to SAO.

Very nice colt 1903. Why arent these things being talked about like m&ps, xds, and glocks??? Is there something about them that makes them less desirable?? From what I can see, they are good to go...

It is a secret.

If you produced an entire line of weapons which are highly accurate, incredibly

Reliable, of well proven design, ergonomically superb, and.......

Cheaper than the goliaths,

Would you spend your hard earned profits on goliath level advertising?

Why spread the word?

Sheeut, everybody and his brother would be all over it.

So, please, shut your line of enquiry down.

The above all in fun of course.

More seriously, on the semiauto end of things,

CZ's have been kicking ass for years.

Additionally you can drool over their rifles

And their VZ 58 carbine.

Remember, it is a secret!

flyboy,

There are a lot of people who consider CZ pistols to be second or third class handguns. These are people who obviously have never fired one and probably never even held one. They must be hung up on some deep seated bias that a pistol from Czechoslovakia can't be any good. These people probably have not done their research to realize that their Springfield XD is from Croatia.

I have never met anyone who had actually fired a CZ that didn't like them.

You can get a P07 for under $500 which makes it an outstanding bargain.

I have shot and handled different varieties of cz bolt guns and they appear to be absolute top quality. Easily better than the savages and remingtons and right up there with brownings as far as quality of the wood and the quality of the metal components as well. Their pistols, at least the cz75b, seems to be looked very favorably upon by those that own it, so it boggles my mind as to why people dont pay more attention to CZ. People forget that the XD was sold as the HS2000 or something like that not long ago for around 3-400 dollars....then once that Springfield Armory name was thrown on it....bam, it is a serious contender now. I guess we will just have to keep the p-07 our little secret. I doubt it will be marketed under an american name any time soon, so we need not worry. ;)

I believe that most of the "problems" so far are failures to eject. CZ is making it right for anyone that has the problems. Myself, I wouldn't hesitate for a second to buy one if I had the money. There are 3 CZ pistols in the house and all of them are excellent. Alot can be said about good customer service too, should something break of malfunction.

I can't wait for mine, supposedly coming soon. The ver first run of P07s had one issue in the trigger catching occaisionally on the trigger guard in the return stroke, and that has been addressed. Everyone who has one seems to be happy as a clam.
Of course, I am slightly biased towards CZs, not that anyone here would know that... :)

Man, I was certain that I wanted a PCR Compact for CC, but now I'm not sure...
I don't suppose anyone would have some comparison pics.

CZF,

That is one sharp RAMI; how do you like it? Give me the pros and cons please. Is the RAMI easier to carry than the P07? Which do you prefer?

Thanks,

Ok now I'm confused, why does the P-07 hold two more rounds than the 75 compact if their height is the same, is the P-07 wider?

Better engineering. The P07 grip is actually thinner than the 75 compact model. I must be honest and tell you that I have been unable to stuff that 16th round into the P07 magazine.

my first cz pistol is the p07, awesome pistol. got bit pretty hard, now im pickin up a phantom soon

thanks, its uncle mikes grip inserts, i think its the universal one forgot what size though. since i put it on the gun feels more solid in my hands and more comfortable to shoot

Is the stagger wider? Either it is, or the 75 compact's mags aren't being taken to their potential.

While I have no Duty to compare to my RAMI.
The empty weight per CZ specs shows them about even.

The 16 shot mag weighs more (have one) than the
10 shot RAMI mag.

As for loading that 16th round.

I'd strongly caution against it.

15+1 in the chamber will probably work better in the long run.

I've downloaded one round for 20 years in my CZs and
have had greater reliability then trying to stuff it full.

Looks like a great pistol. CZ makes some of the most reliable and comfortable pistols around, and they are my favorite. Has anyone tried the P-01 and P-07 and compared them?

P-07

My wife and I have most of the CZ's on the market. there is a reason for it. They are very, very close in accuracy to my S&W revolvers. It's really hard to beat "N" frame smiths for accuracy. And I have at lease one of each. Model 28, 57, 24, and a 28 in .44 spl.(built for me)
The last one shot from a Ransom rest, a 1 1/2" group at fifty yards after it was built.
The CZ's come close to that. I carry the PCR (75"D") and I haven't put it on paper yet, but I put my wifes on paper at 10 yards and you couldn't put your little fingure through the five shot hole. About a 1/2 inch.(yes, is was off a bench rest)
I have a champion in 9mm, A tactical sport in .40, a coupleof .45's (CZ97's)(I just got two on them with decockers)
and assorted 75's and 85's.
Yes, there is a 82 and 83 under my bed and a couple of 52's laying around.
There is no gun that feels better, more accurate and/or more relibable.
I'm not finished with my feeling about the P-07, I like it and I've had "O" troubles with it only about 500 rounds so far.
I did have a customer manage to push the wrong thingy with the slide off and the decockers fell out.(that's how you take out the decockers and put the safty in.)
I'm not sure if I need the extra two or three rounds the P-07 would give me if I had to use it.(I hope not)
But My PCR has been 100% relibable ever since I've had it.
I don't like the feel of the glocks, I don't want to get into XD's
But I've seen a couple of people Using the M&P and they have been very, very happy with them.
One of these people took a Kimber to a very expensive shoot and the recoil spring holder broke and the frame broke just in front of the trigger guard.(ok, Kimber did replace the gun)
The next time My friend shot the course, she used her new M&P .40. and After four days of a lot of shooting she brought the gun home and cleaned it. There were no problems with the smith auto. (I believe she shot about 800 to 1000 rounds in four days.)
But don't confuse me with fac ts, my mine is made up, I like my CZ's.
