CZ PCR and Sig 2022

Is there anyone that can compare these 2 for me? Both have caught my eye, but only one can come home.

Which one will be the lucky one?

If I were to carry a SIG it would be the P229 or the smaller and lighter P232. The SIG PRO 2022 I really never understood why SIG made it, when there is the larger P226 and the slightly smaller P229. I had been using the P232 as my main carry weapon but felt it had limits beyond 10 yards. My choices were the CZ PCR, Glock G19 and the SIG P229. I chose the CZ PCR, for the money it cannot be beat, it goes everywhere I go. I own 5 SIGs including the 556 rifle, and own only one CZ, as far as 9mm carry weapons, range pistol and IDPA matches it does it all. I personally would check each manufacturer's web sights for comparisons in size, weight, etc. Pick up the PCR and it feels as if it were custom made for your hand, shoots as good too.

I have a PCR and looked at the Sig pro and P250 in 9mm. I chose the PCR overall b/c it felt at home in my hands and I liked the trigger A LOT better than the LDA-esque trigger of the P250. I also like the feel of a metal framed pistol instead of the polymer frame on the P250. From what I have seen the P250 replaced the Sig pro. My PCR is far more accurate than my G19, G17, and several 1911's I have owned. Get the PCR love it and never look back.

PCR. I have shot many SiGs, (though not the one in question), and my vote is PCR.

PCRs trigger will be gritty out of the box. It will smooth up some but the caming will never go away. They are nice compact guns and used to be a very good value. I just cannot see paying $550+ today for a gun I bought for $400 juts a few short years ago.

The Sig P2022 will have a much smoother trigger pull. The DA is sort of long but it is smooth and the SA is crisp. It will fit a lot of hands with the 2 backstraps supplied. Night sights are included. You can still get them OTD for under $500.

I am a CZ guy, but I will say that an above post hits it about right. I have owned and shot the P01 plenty. The PCR is almost exactly the same, but no rail. The CZ is a FINE accurate gun, but...

The decocker on the PCR/P01 is a not well placed for 'high thumb' hold - not too bad, but not good. Also, CZs (almost) ALWAYS (except maybe the 97) come with a gritty DA trigger, and an imprecise SA trigger with 'camming'. I would agree that when you could nail them at $400 or less, that was OK, especially if you had a good smith nearby. But... at $550 or more, CZ USA is pushing it when thats close to a SIG which WILL have a better trigger OTB.

If the SIG fits well, I'd consider it heavily. BUT, if the PCR had a MANUAL safety, I'd get the PCR - but too bad - CZ UB is not into American marketing.

I held a Sig 2022 yesterday. I did not like it all. Too bad; Buds has 'em w/laser and nite sights for $450ish. The grip felt wierd to my hand - sort of a square backstrap - and the trigger is too far forward. Even the salesman commented that it takes big hands to run the 2022 well. I don't have big hands; it's out of the running.

The 250, on the other hand, fits me well. Very well...if I find one at a good used price, I'm all over it.

I STRONGLY suggest you handle the Sig 2022 before setting your sights on it as a purchase.

What backstrap was on the gun? My guess is it was the larger of the two available. The backstraps are removal-able. Most of the 9mms come with both the small and medium. Even with the smaller one the backstrap is thicker than it needs to be but it still fits my hand.

I have smaller hands and have no issues with the P2022.

The 2022 looked good on paper, but I handled one yesterday, along with some other sigs. My final verdict is that most of them felt bulky in my hands. Think I can rule the 2022 out. Still like the pcr. I need to find a pcr in stock to see of I really gaining anything from my semi-compact other than saving a little weight.

I did hold a XD 3" yesterday that I liked. Don't have anything in a sub-compact version. Anyone know anything about these guns?

I chose the PCR because it fit my hand better. I am impressed every time I shoot it, its a very accurate and reliable weapon. It was the right choice for me.

XD Subcompact (3") is a VERY nice little gun. The ones I've seen had very good triggers. Keep in mind that the PCR and the XD are extremely different guns. The XDSC is lighter, and will have a shot to shot consistent trigger pull. The PCR is meant for DA/SA carry. The XD is slim for a double stack. As is, I might get the XDSC - smaller, lighter, and point/shoot - with no DA/SA training needed. It is likely less money if you shop around.

BUT, if the PCR had a manual safety, I might go for the CZ. But alas, no.

I do own an XD 45C and like it much. I have 4 CZs - all manual safeties.

All 3 of my CZ's have manual safeties. I have never used one with a decocker. That is my only concern with the pcr.

I don't have a Sig 2022, but I do have a CZ PCR and Sig P228. I choose the PCR over the Sig every day. I know, not a fair comparison, but my PCR gets the nod over a lot of other choices in my safe. Yeah, its that good.

I prefer metal over plastic any day. However, I got to spend some time with a CZ SP01, Sig P6, and Sig 2022 over the weekend. The 2022 had a far superior trigger (i.e., extremely smooth and consistent with no grit or creep) with the P6 coming in between the 2022 and SP01.

Not sure...it was very square looking and feeling. There are some guns that almost melt into your hand when you pick them up. This one didn't do it for me.

I'd like to suggest that you steer away from the Sig Pro 2022. I bought one about 6 months ago, sold it around 2 months ago. I shot it at the range, and for around the first couple mags, it jammed every other shot. after that, it jammed once per every mag (or couple of them). I was using Remington UMC 9mm. It could have been a lemon, but I wouldn't take my chances.

Also, I feel that the grip is poorly designed, for a Sig. If you take a look at a picture of one, the magazine bottom plates for this gun comprise about 1/4 of your forward grip, with the other 3/4 being the grip of the actual gun. Very poor design, IMHO, for a couple reasons:
1 - mag moved a lot inside the gun (back of hand was hitting mag plate from the side a lot)
2 - had to remove my pinky from the grip whenever I wanted to reload
3 - it just felt bad, it's nice to have your whole hand on the gun, not a finger of your hand resting on the magazine baseplate. I'm not saying this applies for pocket pistols or subcompacts and such, but I wouldn't expect that on a gun which is as large as the 2022.

My dad also talked to a FFL when I was trying to sell mine, and the guy called his distributor, who told him that the market was flooded with 2022's because they haven't sold for whatever reason, and therefore they are cheaper in price relative to other sigs. The distributor was really trying to dump it's 2022's. That's what I know.
