Anyone own both a PCR and a CZ 75? How does the recoil compare? I don't really care for me. It's more for my wife. She loves our CZ 75, but thinks the recoil on our RAMI is too much.

So how much does the shortened barrel & alloy frame affect recoil?

Not enough to notice, for me. But, if you want to reduce felt recoil, get the steel frame Compact, which comes with standard safety, or get the PO1 with the little bit extra alloy out front with the M3 rail. I could never really tell much differance, though. I can say the PCR will recoil less than the RAMI, but if she is truley recoil shy, get the Compact.

I couldn't tell much difference in mine - and because the PCR feels so good in the hand, it left the impression of maybe recoiling less. However, since cocked and locked capability is one of the major benefits offered by CZ, I got rid of the PCR.

CZ should make the PCR in an SA version.

I have the P-01 and a 75B, and I think the P-01 actually recoils less than the 75B. It is just as accurate too. It is the same as the PCR, only the PCR lacks the rail, which I can't imagine makes much difference. CZs are amazing.

I only have the PCR. But its recoil is very mild, to me. The unpleasantness she feels in the little RAMI are likely due to its short grip and increased muzzle flash and blast from the shorter barrel. A PCR, P-01 or 75B Compact split the difference, so to speak.

Hi there, I have the 75 PO1 and it's really been just a wonderful surprise to handle and shoot. Mine is more accurate than any Sig I've handle'd with the exception of the 210. I believe it's only 2oz heavier then the Rami, hopefully that'll do the trick for your wife. In fact the more I think about it, the more I think your wife would love either the PCR or the PO1 with recoil becoming a non-issue. Personally I'd recomend the PO1 because of the rail..... P.S. I think the improved gripping surface will cancel out the percieved recoil....

Thanks. That's what I figured. I already have a 75 BD & RAMI-P stainless & I love them both. I don't mind the RAMI recoil, although it's noticeably snappier than that of the 75.

I was debating between getting another 75 versus a PCR. I don't really care about a rail, per se. I considered getting the 75 compact, but I figure there's not much point since it's almost as heavy as the 75. I'd just assume get a 75 in that case.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm a certified CZ nut, and they seem to keep multiplying in the safe!:D

I think the CZ-75D PCR is the best all around 9MM on the market. Its a very accurate range gun, plus its great for carry. While it is compact it is still hicap, relaible and accurate in a very attractive package. The felt recoil is not much more than my 75B and its just as accurate, but in an easier carrying package.

My PCR's supplied magazines had a thin steel floorplate that protrudes past the front of the grip, presumbably to aid in ripping the magazine out. This edge bit into my little finger. I retrofitted the magazines with floorplates that have rubber base pads.

Armoredman: If they make one, I'll be first in line. But I hope they skip the stupid light rail fad

While you're at it, Armoredman, could you ask CZ to include an Ambi safety?

I love my PCR (and it's P-01 cousin, too)...but would like to add a compact frame 9mm CZ (steel or alloy) with an ambi safety that I could carry cocked & locked.

If CZ would do that, I'd be right in line at the CZ store behind Golddog...

Thanks, from a southpaw.
