CZ pricing

I am looking for a .22lr and brought it down to Savage vs. CZ 452/453. The thing is Savages, from what I've seen, are much cheaper than CZs but some people are talking about CZs priced around 200 dollars. I can't find this, does anyone have some proof of this? I love the CZs and I would really like to get one, but I'm only seeing them at around 300,400,500 dollars.

I see CZs selling for $250-300 secondhand on forums all the time. As long as you don't live in a state with absurdly high FFL fees (like CA [my state] and NY, you should be fine)

you should be able to pop a cz for 200 to 250 anytime at a gunshow, or cdnn, or gunbroker, or gunsamerica, or other sites. Also check out Gander mountain.
I know there is a dude here , that is a dealer at the houston gusnhows that sells the trainer for 219, i believe.

You should be able to find a Scout, Trainer or Special for about $200, all with adjustable trigger. The 512 Basic, however, has a non-adjustable trigger. All four come with a beech stock instead of walnut or synthetic, which explains the $100 price difference.

I paid $225 for a trainer a couple years back and recently bought a Super Exclusive for $300

You may be looking at the CZ 452 American, which costs a bit more than some of the basic Scout, Trainer, etc. models. I have one, and it is very nice.

I am no longer up to speed on all of the models, but some CZ's have a 11 mm European dovetail scope mount, and I think the American (comes with no iron sights) has regular 3/8" mount.

Some of the models used to have a rep as being a bit difficult to mount a scope on because the (excellent) rear sight got in the way and was hard to remove or rise above. If you wanted to mount a scope, back when I got mine, the American was the easy way to go. For iron sight shooting, other models are the ticket.

I could be behind the times on this, so you may want to check out www.rimfirecentral.com. Go to the section on CZ's. Look for the sticky at the top of the CZ section titled "CZ 452 Model Specs".

It is a pretty active board, and the folks are pretty helpful (like here). Ask them all your newbie questions. I did, and still do.

I kept looking for something cheaper and putting it off, but I finally got the 452FS a couple months ago and am very happy I did. I gave in and paid about $350.

Depends on where you are at. CZ;s can be ordered thru Wal-Marts that sell firearms now also.
