Looking for CZ-75B mags is getting old. Will Witness magazines work in this gun?
Also, like the XD, will .40 mags lock into the 9mm frame? I used to have an XD, and used .40 mags in the 9mm as they held 15 rounds of 9mm and worked great.
Thanks in advance.

CZ mags aren't that hard to find. Try CDNN (www.cdnninvestments.com) or Go to the CZ forum. Someone posted a link on there to somewhere you could get 16-rd Mec-Gar mags for $16.99.

I don't know if Witness mags fit in CZ 75s, but I doubt it.

Everybody's out of CZ mags.

Midway, CDNN, Natches, Sportsmans, Copes, all the local dealers, just about everybody. I can get them fvor $39, but I'd rather shop around. I know that EAA witness are basically CZ clones, as are Baby Eagles, and I can find mags for those online, just trying to get some info first.

I had to check out the same information, just the other way. The easy answer is it depends. Check out the CZ specific forums for this sort of information. I think one of the sites was czshooters.com or something like that. I am sure google will help you out.

Ah, here is the better one. A search here on the forum found it (that search button is pretty neat)

Witness magazines will NOT work with CZ pistols. The magazine catch slot is not in the same place.

I see them at gun shows all the time. I also often find them in the local gun shops. They seem to be the most common CZ magazine there is.

Ammoclip.com has some listed but their prices are a bit high.

I have heard they will work fine in the 75B but I know for fact the Witness 45acp mag will work in a 97B because I have seen it done, they even look just like the 97B mag.

Generally speaking, EAA Witness mags for the small-frame Witness/Clones will work in CZ 75Bs. (The .45 mags are virtually identical.)

CZ's mag release is set just a hair higher in the grip than Witness mag releases, and as a result, Witness mags won't work right without modification.

(When this happens, they will sometimes not lock in place, or if in place, will press up so firmly against the underside of the slide, the slide won't move properly. You can fix this with a dremel or small file, by enlarging the top of the mag release notch to let the mag drop down just a bit.)

The plus: .40 mags will generally work with 9mm rounds, so you can get some cheap semi-hi-caps.

Baby Eagle mags will work too, and they're often available cheaply. (Same possible problems.)

CZ factory mags are now available from a number of sources, and they're very reasonable. Unless you're getting the "clone" mags for about $7 or $8, I'd stick with factory or Mec-Gar mags.

Not all Witness .45 mags are marked with the Mec-Gar logo.

Many gun manufacturers use different mag makers, with the mags made to their spec.

I've got some 10-round mags for the CZ, a few are unmarked (they way they came with a new CZ during the ban). A couple of them seem to have been made by Mec-Gar, some that were identical to those, and I later bought from CDNN, but in PRO-MAG packages. I can't tell them apart.

In the last year or so, CZ swtiched to Mec-Gar for nearly all mags used in new production guns sold in the US; I'm not sure about elsewhere.
