I recently purchased a CZ RAMI in 9mm from a fellow THRman, and have been most pleased thus far.
I took it out to an IDPA match south of Austin (www.texastactical.net), and did better with this little piece than with my Sistema. Mainly because the sights are very easy to acquire, and recoil very minimal; follow-up shots were pretty dang easy. Apparently folks don't shoot IDPA with CZ much around here, as everyone was very curious about this little piece.
Also been trying it out at the range, and quite pleased with the (usable) accuracy of such a small pistol. I don't have any official-sounding measurments or numbers, but suffice to say I shoot about as well with this pistol as any other standard-size pistol. Recoil is very smooth.
It's a little chunky, but not at all heavy. Grips and controls are very low-profile, slight scalloping for grip on front strap. Standard mag holds 10 rounds, extended mag holds 14, and comes with the base extension to provide a full grip.
Reliability has been perfect with 115gr WWB, though one of the 14rd mags won't feed anything whatsoever. I marked it with tape (good tip I got from THR), so will examine it tonight for gunk or broken parts.
I've tried it out IWB, and though I'm a skinny guy, it's not bad at all. If I were going to carry this absolutely every day, I might be tempted to downgrade to half the ammo capacity and get a Kahr. But for the time being, I'll use the P32 for carry, and take this CZ for special occasions like collecting rent in the rougher part of town.
When carrying it, I carry it hammer-down on a round, which is safe with a CZ. The only downside is that I have to decock manually every time I load up. So I tend to do so off the back porch, pointing at the dirt. It's actually quite easy to do, but does seem a little weird, intuitively. I tried C&L, but I'm not thrilled about trying to engage such a low-profile safety in a hurry. It's funny, it's not the cocked part that scares me, it's the locked part. So I carry decocked.
My overall impression: the RAMI is the Glock 26 for the all-metal cocked-and-locked crowd. Very similar in weight/size/capacity, just in a different operating system. I'm quite impressed overall, and am digging the whole CZ-style slide: CZ slides ride _inside_ the rails, unlike most other pistols out there.
That about covers it. I always like to buy cool grips for guns (see my Ruger pearl pimp-grips thread), but I'm actually quite taking with these RAMI grips. It maintains the overall "brutal little package" look of the RAMI, tempted though I am to get elk grips for it (Antler Crafts of Oregon). I welcome any further CZ RAMI comments and pics, with the caveat that your pics must be more unusual than mine. Take care, -MV
