Question: I can buy a brand new Redhead for $699. I really can't afford a new Citori. Would I be better off, buying a good used Citori for say $1000, or invest in the CZ? Don't shoot a whole lot, just want a O/U.

Thanks for your input.

The CZ is made in Turkey by Huglu. A used Citori is a much better shotgun.

What gauge? What model? What do you want to do with it (even if not all that often)?

I bought a used CZ and it's been a great shotgun so far. It's no browning, but for my light use, it's fine.

I still drool over a classic Browning O/U.

I would get the CZ Redhead, that is what I did. 500-700 extra dollars in my pocket buys another firearm.

And, rounding the last turn, it's the pig from Turkey, and the pig from Japan! But wait, they might both be edged out by the pig from Brazil!

(Translation: stop, breathe, consider that you might not want either one. There are shotguns out there that handle VERY differently from either of those, particularly in 12 Gauge. Unless you want it to hang on the wall, I'd do some more investigation before dropping $699, or $1000, or whatever.:) I've been seeing Cynergy shotguns on sale for cheap lately, and Citoris, too. Don't choose a shotgun because of the price, though. Get the best price you can, on the gun that actually feels right to you.)

AB is right. If it doesn't fit well, no matter what the price, it won't have as-good of a natural point. See what fits, and see what prices you can find.

I really like my citori. Think it's a 1975 iirc.

Been wanting to pick up a cheaper O/U with selective ejectors. Because a 18" O/U would rock.
