So I just recently purchased a CZ SP 01 Tactical. Its part of my plan to buy a CZ 75 D PCR Compact, CZ 75BD and a SP 01 Tactical and have three slightly different guns. Its not a great plan but I made it and I'm sticking to it.

Anyway I purchased one from Bud's Gun Shop, put my MO in the mail and started reading threads and reviews where ever I could find them to hold me over until it gets here. I noticed something interesting: the SP 01 seems to hold either 18+1, 19+1 or 20+1 depending on where I look.

Are there different mags, or are people just mistaking the capacity of the mags they have?

SP-01 Tactical...

Have a SP-01 Tactical and several 75Bs... The magazine on my SP has an '18' hole... I've loaded it to 18-rnds and that seems like it.. don't like excessive forcing and pushing... and my gun's still young (about 1000+rnds). The CZ catalog shows it at a '19rnd capacity' (probably 18+1in)... That one rnd doesn't make me crazy one-way-or-another! I usually load it to 15-16 (which is VERY comfortable) when targeting... I've taken the mag apart once for cleaning and I'm sure it'll loosen-up more as the rnds go by. Don't know what you're reading but I truly doubt that 20+1 number... and alot of Bud's 'spec numbers' aren't always that accurate. Anyway, you'll know in a couple days... Get that 75BD next... you'll love it. The SP-01 is a 'monster' where as the 75 is 'smooth as silk.'

I just got one of these myself (in the non-decocking variety) with 6 additional factory magazines. The magazine boxes are labeled as 18+1...as is the mag itself.

CZ makes a factory 25 rd magazine also. I plan to grab one or two of those for fun.
